Trust me' date=' you should be glad that you are not sliming as it can be painful if early out (e.g less then 5 months).[/quote']

BUT I WANT TO! I beat that surgeon used a garden hose for a bougie :P

It is excruciating...

And my surgeon used a thimble.

Happens to me all the time. Any advice would be much appreciated. I travel a lot so I can't measure or weigh portions. When traveling, I dine with coworkers so I try to eat "normal." I order small items like just a piece of grilled chicken but I still eat too it fast and get past the comfortably full stage and then bam hiccups and foam. Eww

I'm going to start cutting every piece down to dime size pieces and only eat them one at a time.

I too have them. I am 5 weeks out. It's not painful. I feel the discomfort and pressure and up it has to come. Then I am relived. Not fun and I am always afraid it's gonna happen when I am around someone.

Some people have cues to let them know when to stop, like burping, hiccups, coughing, or sneezing. I sneeze.

Just wondering but has anyone had that " I am gonna throw up" feeling and just plowed through the sensations and held everything down without vomiting?

Yes, I do get this warning. And it is loud and clear. Usually I have about 1 minute to scramble into the bathroom. Just for comparison, it is the same feeling I used to get from Multivitamins back in the early post op days, back when those little buggers made me throw up. I get this sensation if I go beyond the slime reaction. It does not happen very often. I think 2 x in the last 8 months. My sleeve will definitely put up a fight if I eat too much dense Protein like 2 ounces of costco steak strips or some raw red pepper slices, after my 3-5 ounces of chicken. I try and not overeat 95% of the time, but when I do, I make sure it is with dense Protein and veggies so it does not go too far and it is with dense nutrient food.

Holy crap I' having the worst case of sliming! I ate a turkey burger for dinner. Guess I ate it too fast and about two bites too many. I'm really in a lot of discomfort. I wish I could throw up but it won't come up and it's not going down either. I'm just belching and sliming and miserable. Is there any way to get this to stop? It's been going on for at least two hours. Help me!!!!!

The only thing I could suggest is to walk around and burp. Don't push yourself to throw up.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
