Hope everyone is doing well here! Forgive me for I am a newbie! :)

I started out going to a seminar in March and had my consultation April 11. I was told that I would need to have an EGD, evaluation and they really wanted me to have a sleep study. I am scheduled for the evaluation May 6 and EGD May 7. I just got a call that they wanted to do the sleep study TONIGHT!!! Seriously?!?! Talk about moving fast!!! I'm really excited about getting things done so quickly though.

I opted to do the study Friday instead due to work being so crazy right now. I'm really struggling with the idea I may have sleep apnea. I know it's ok but I'm such a light sleeper that I'm worried about the noise of the CPAP. I'm really hoping that by losing weight it will help me with not having to have a machine. I know there are a lot of other people that do just fine with it. I just don't really want one. Anyone else feel this way?!?! After you have a CPAP do you ever not have to have it?!?! Just curious...and nervous!!!

My husband's CPAP is barely audible. He's completely adjusted to it and it's made a huge difference in his life. You won't be such a light sleeper anymore if you need one... you'll rest much better!

My boyfriend has one and the difference between his quality of sleep before and now is amazing. The noise on the newer ones are minimal. Once you get adjusted and there is an adjustment stage of a few nights, you will wonder how you slept without it. Don't worry

Thanks for the welcome!

Just freaking out about something new I guess. How easy/hard is it to travel with? I'm so excited about the weight loss journey that I plan on traveling more after I hit my goal. I would love to take a cruise as a reward! ;)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
