Do you mostly sit at work all day?

That is a good suggestion by your doctor to lose weight before running in order to take stress of your knees' date=' ankles, feet etc. Also be careful about gait, stride and posture when starting to run in order to minimize injury. One style of running that helped me in the beginning is called ChiRunning. I have written a fair amount about it if you search through some of my older posts.[/quote']

Thank u very much. I love to learn. So, I will def look into it. I'll get bk with u & give u an update, too! :-)

I sit at a desk for 10-12 hours a day, and by noon my legs are jiggling with antsiness so I do 30 seconds of jumping jacks, I feel the need every few hours.

I work nights as a telephone operator at a hospital , I walk in place at my desk. Kind of like a march lifting my legs high. Sometimes I do a half hour or more, sometimes I do 10 minutes per hour. I can still get my phone if it rings.

I'm a telephone operator too :) I will lock my doors and lift weights for 20 minutes and do lunges and squats.

I was brave enough this morning to try a set of jumping jacks & I did it!! They've been hard for me to do, but thank God I'm getting stronger from working out.

No desk job for me. Im @ home depot. I walk around the store so much I probably burn around 1000 calories in my 9 hours there. I pick up pallets move and pick up merchandise push cages and to top it all off I live in NYC. I dont own a car I walk take the subway or city bus. Im always on my feet. I think not having a desk job and living in the city gives me an advantage. I got to the gym 3 times a week. Thats just a bonus for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
