Vets: Anyone lost too much weight?!?!

I started out right at the 40 BMI mark and am already at 35 pre-surgery. I am curios if anyone has lost too much weight. I REALLY want to get back to a healthy size after 10 years of being a plus size; however, I am not a fan of too skinny. Has anyone had to deal with the problem of not being able to stop losing weight?

im interested to know the answer to this too!! my BMI was 33.3 when i had surgery im now 30, and 3 weeks out. I idealy want to be around 22 or 125lb and like you are not wanting to be super skinny! iwas beginning to think about what i can do to maintain at that weight once i get there.. so I hope someone has an answer!

Well for me if I stick to my eating plan during weight loss, yes, I could continue to lose weight. I find that I have to eat more food, some times higher calorie to prevent this.

To the one poster that wants a BMI of 22, that seems to be a low weight have you thought you may be too skinny at this weight?

For me right now my BMI is just under 25(normal) and I have very little fat and I do have loose skin, it is what it is as they say. As you get closer to your goal you may change what you want to weigh.

sleeve master you are right!! i have just checked what my BMI would be at 125lbs and that is 23.5 so thats better I am small framed and 5ft 2. I agree I may change as I get closer to my goal, I would like to be a US size 6 which is a UK size 10. that would be perfect for me. I seem to be stalling a little at the moment but i am told that happens at 3 weeks? i am also transitioning onto pureed (which I am struggling with!) thank you Kat for asking this question! sleeve master.. i am interested what sort of higher calorie foods do you eat in order to maintain? thanks Rachel

I know my BMI is a little lower than the norm for this surgery, but I have been over 200 and plus size for 10 years. I am very active and love healthy food, I just cannot portion control--aside from having a slow metabolism. So, I believe (or I have convinced myself) that this surgery is right for me. I guess what I want to know, is that if there comes a point where I have hit my ideal size (I am almost 5' 7" and medium framed, so a 6/8 looked good on me back in the day), what do I have to do not to look sunk in and/or too skinny?

Amazon, what you said sounds simple enough: in a nutshell, just consume higher calorie foods?

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
