My book says that I can start having 'refined beans' for protein..I am on pureed stage, just over 2 weeks so I really need the Protein and would love some variety so I would really like to find out what the heck refined Beans are....

Refried Beans are a latin dish. It is cooked pinto, black or really any type of bean and they're mushed/smashed/pureed type consistancy. I love refried black beans the best. Enjoy!

There is no such thing as "refined beans". I am absolutely sure you are looking at a typo meant to state "refried beans".

I am on pureed and am having refried Beans. I chew / move it around in my mouth with each bite so that it's a pureed consistency. I melt a bit of cheese and put a dollop of sour cream on top with chalula hot sauce. Has been my favorite meals so far.

Make sure if you get the canned variety that you get the fat free. Some refried Beans are prepared with LARD and you definitely don't want to be putting that in your body.

My post surgery sheet (yours may vary) says that you can blend a little bit of salsa in there too

You nailed it. That's exactly what I was going to say.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
