What's in a Name

Recommended Posts

Naturally my name is Jim. My best girlfriend in Virginia had a friend named Jim also. As I was her husbands boss, she started calling me Jimboss as not to confuse her little girl about who she was speaking of when she mentioned "Jim".

I'm originally from Virginia. Born in Georgia but raised in and around the Richmond Va area. My lovely bride and I moved to South Dakota in 1996 and have been here ever since. We do miss Virginia though. And we would go back but all of our kids are here as well as grandbabies, so it would be tough to abandon all of that.

I am the Power Plant Manager with the South Dakota State Penitentiary.

My name is a combo, Im Victorious in Christ, (and only because of Him), and my favorite movie is Polyanna, and my favorite era in time is the Victorian one. So no great mystery how I came up with Victoriana. I have the Irish name of Kathleen, by gosh and begorah.

Hi everyone!

My name is Tracy. (from WI) Bubby is a nickname that my DH and I called each other while we were dating. When we first got married we lived in the country near a small blow by town of Bussyville so we named our home Bubbyville. (ah what stupid things you do when you are in love).

Hi! My name is Anna and anything I say on LBT is just "my point of view" and subject to reality. Hence, my p.o.v.

Well, I guess I'm the second Kartrina on this site, except my name has an extra 'r' in it (silent). And speaking of the hurricaine, I went through that thing down there....went through 4 of em before I got out of Florida. Anyhoo...my username comes from what my DH sometimes says when he calls me. "I'm looking for my blue eyed baby" Do ya wanna guess what color my eyes are?

Hi my name is Tammy. I am 34 and live in Washington.

I have my name for 2 reasons. First and mainly, because I only have one life to live and also because it is my favorite soap to watch!

My name is Nathalie Grace Adams. NGAdams.

I used to have the nickname NGAplz because I think it's funny, though it's not exactly PC, and can be hurtful to people. Dave Chappelle doesn't think so though, but I'm not Dave Chappelle. I also didn't think it would be appropriate for LBT. So I'm just NGAdams

Hello Everyone,

My name is Stacy... which is the first part of my username, the rtl stands for: ready to loose. Like everyone else, that is what my goal is. Kind of boring, but it is what it is I guess.

This has been a nice thread to read thru.:clap2:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
