Ragergirl; Thanks, and likewise! I am not on Dr. A's board, but I would love the info on it. I have not seen him yet, although I have been referred. I am going to call his office next week to see if there is any word on how much longer it will be before I get in. I heard they were moving thier offices to Langford, in the Millstream clinic. I live in Langford, so that would be great. Probably easier for you as well!

Hope you have a happy holiday season!

Well Christmas is over and life can start to return to some routine. I am still in Alberta. I waited until boxing day to tell my family. I made no big deal about it...."Oh by the way...." etc etc... and focused on the health benefits, and they were all very happy for me. They have been really supportive. I was fortunate enough to have a bad cold on christmas day, so I didn't have to explain why I wasn't eating! Life is funny sometimes!

I have been sticking to creamed Soups, chicken Soup and fruit juice. I am down 22 pounds since the begining of Dec. Not bad!

What is really great is that I am happy. Usually when I am 'dieting' I have anxiety, I want to kill people, small animals, vehicles etc... which keep anoying me by existing. Now I feel no hunger symptoms at all and I certianly don't feel deprived.

Went shopping today (addition-elle) and bought a pair of pants and a jacket. It was fun to look in the mirror and be happy. It was nice to have choices. Usually I just buy whatever fits and doesn't look too horrible. Just imaging what we will all be like next boxing day..... hmmmm.

Hope you are all doing well and enjoying the holidays! Happy New Year!

Congrats! Just think, soon Addition-Elle will be a thing of the past and/or you'll get dirty looks when you walk in! ha!

I have been reading your thread. I had my surgery on Dec 15th by Dr. Cobourn in Ontario.

You are right about the wait lists. I noticed that you are originally from Grande Prairie. I thought that I would drop you a quick note. I am assuming that it is Grande Prairie, AB. This is where I live.

How did your Christmas go. I hope everything went well. I am struggling with eating everything. When I don't than I am grabbing for something I shouldn't have. But will have to address this problem.

Up until now I was doing really good. Just have to get back on track again.

Take care I hope everything is well with you.

Awesome Bandiva, I hope I can get to that stage (of not wanting to kill something when I'm deprived) I am horrible on diets usually, very moody. So I hope this will be different for me too.

ahuber -Hi there. It is nice to hear from you. I am still in GP, I am leaving on Friday aft. I am suprised you are albe to eat so soon. I tried having about 4 bites of rice and had to get up and walk it off. I felt like I was going to choke or like I had really bad anxiety. I guess everyone is different. However, I did discover that if you let chocolate melt in your mouth it is a liquid and slides down easily! My doc has me on clear liq for the first week and then full fluids for the second week and then straight to solid food, but eating protien and vegis before anything else. What kind of post op does your doctor have you on. I can't believe the differences in doctors advice! It makes it interesting though!

Becca77-You will get to that stage...I was the QUEEN of that stage...you will love how good it feels to be in control. My husband even commented on it the other day. He was expecting me to be evil and I have been fine! Pre-band life, it was almost as if I panicked. I felt like if I got hungry and didn't eat right away I would throw up. Weird stuff?!

I will be cheering for both of you! We are all in this together!:) :)

Yippee! The most amazing thing happened today. I put my uniform on today (afternot wearing one for a week) and it was so big on my that I thought it was one of my old XXL's instead of the XL that I had intended to wear. I checked the tag and it was the XL! Happy days. I have always felt fat and self conscious when my uniform has been too tight.

Today is a great day...now I have to go before I am late...hehe.

Happy New Year Everyone!

I got a new pair of pants for christmas and they were to small. Well meaning family, I was a little depressed. Then I tried them on, I swear they switched the lables. They are only a little tight, not uncomfortable and I have them on right now. The lap band works

KW- Yeah on the pants fitting. It's great they are a little tight, it gives you room to shrink.

I hate it when people buy me clothes for Christmas. They are always to small and people want me to model it etc...grrrr. Same thing this Christmas. The stuff is way way way too small, and they didn't know about my surgery until after they had bought it.

Funny (not really) story- The in laws bought me a really fantastic food scale. It measures calories, fat, carbs, sodium etc... I loved it! Then my mother in law says "Ya, and we bought it before we knew about your surgery, isn't that great?" Hmmm, let me think...I am pretty sure that was an insult, seeing how I wasn't on a diet. Oh well, I just take a deep breath and carry on as usual...is there a smiley for banging my head against the wall?

Congratulations Bandiva!!!

I also use to hate it when relatives bought me clothes, and yes, they always wanted to see them on, geeesh. Now I insist on gift certificates!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
