Yes for me that's pretty normal. I'm hungry every 2-3 hours. BUT and this is a big BUT for me...just a few bites is enough for me to feel full. So even eating that often I'm still only getting about 800 calories which is WAY WAY less than I've ever been able to do before. Oh' date=' I'm 6 weeks out[/quote']

Yes like you I am full immediately!!! I try to make sure that what I'm eating is lean and full of protein--NO JUNK!!! I've been averaging 800-1000 calories per day (if even that). I really asked because they acted like the urge to eat would NEVER come back!!!

I am 4 months post op and I have been hungry from like day 4 on. I eat every 2-3 hours. Sometimes longer if I am really busy. glad I am not alone.

IKR!!! I was thinking "my greedy self might be out here alone with this one!!!!". Lol but I guess not! I do good tho with my food choices overall tho.

It is not abnormal to be hungry! There seems to be a growing belief here that you will no longer experience hunger.

I will say there a a few here that say they never feel hunger anymore but that is the exception not the rule.. Your body needs fuel to work!

It's still a balancing act in a way. I still have to make the decision to eat healthy when hunger comes and as time goes by you have to put a bit more work into it because increased hunger becomes an issue along with being able to eat a bit more.

These are not things to scare you off, this is part of the "work" part people are talking about. the sleeve is a "tool" to be used along with having to learn new habits.

I would eat 5 times a day. If you follow the rules with drinking and eating you will be busy all day putting something in your body.

I took a Metamucil tablet yesterday and today and it has helped with hunger sooooo much. I only ate 710 calories today compared to the 1000-1200 I was eating. And I haven't been starving all day. When I get hungry I can eat something small like a yogurt or string cheese and be good to go. Before yesterday I was having to eat more at a time and more often. Idk if its the Metamucil tablet or if my body is finally getting use to not having a stomach but I'm pretty stoked because I've been battling the sucky starvation for 6 weeks.

Please be careful! Eating Fiber as an appetite suppressant without drinking enough liquid to pass it through can cause blockage and lead to very serious complications. Trust me! I had my intestines twist and had to have a bowel resection which was REALLY horrible!! It didn't happen for me because of Fiber but was just a freak thing. Either way, it is definitely NOT something you want to go through!!

Ditto for me. I've been hungry for 3 1/2 months. I eat small high Protein Snacks and Popsicles. And try to stay busy.

Really, I didn't know that but I'm very regular in the bathroom department, always have been and I haven't had any issues going to te bathroom since surgery but I will keep what you said in mind in case anything changes

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
