Supervised Diet Wait...

Recommended Posts

I was reading on one of the FB groups where the 6 month PCP supervised weight loss program was counted from their first visit. So if the first appointment was January 15th then the 6th one was In June instead of counting to the end of the 6 months and it ending in July. They (as I) always thought it started technically on the second visit after one month. So now I'm curious what others have dealt with when working with the supervised diet. I'm going to send a note to my patient coordinator and ask what my surgeon does.

My first visit was Nov. 27. My last visit is May 16. I will actually have seven pages filled out and signed by my pcp. I'm being told that I will not have surgery until mid-July.

Just heard from my patient navigator and she said the same that it counted towards my 6 months. She did say to continue with them until we had approval in case insurance took a bit and wanted more information. She also said my second appt was lacking good documentation, which surprised me because I saw my dr write everything down, she said my third appointment was done really well and I shouldn't be concerned, but to be diligent in their documenting from here on out.

I've actually been wondering about this too. I had my first appt with my PCP Feb 5th. I'm hoping my last appt will be early July and it will be done. If I actually have to have 7 pages turned in though, it won't be till August. I was hoping my surgery would be August. I need to check with my surgeon's office.

Because my dr appts have to be four weeks apart for six months, that makes my last appt in May. My first appt in November did count. I got the papers the dr has to fill out each month from my ins company. There are seven pages, but it is actually six months. Then I have to wait for ins approval to go through. The financial person at the bariatric center said that can take anywhere from one week to one month. All the waiting stinks, but I am learning so much and have lost 15 lbs so far just on the diet instructions my dietician gave me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
