Good food processor or blender?

Recommended Posts

We have a blender but I'm wondering if I need something with more options for my post op diet! I want something good probably my not much more than $40. What did you use? Any suggestions?

I know a lot of folks use the Ninja or some other highly expensive blender, I just bought one from Walmart for like $20-$30 and it did a great job. I couldn't justify spending $150 on something I knew I wasn't going to use after post op diet because I have a juicer, and a really awesome blender that sucks as a food processor.

I was just going to post asking about this. I'm actually looking online at blenders right now. I'm thinking of getting the ninja pulse or the ninja professional...I really can't tell the difference except size and one is 80 the other is 140$ lol never had a blender so no experience at all but I hear nothing but good about ninja so that's a brand I'm sticking too just trying to figure out how much I wanna pay

Lots of excellent blenders on the market like Blendtec, Vitamix, ninja. Cusinart is sort of the gold standard of food processors. However if you don't want to spend much, aren't looking for top of the line, Krups and Black & Decker make good small appliances.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
