Good food processor or blender?

We have a blender but I'm wondering if I need something with more options for my post op diet! I want something good probably my not much more than $40. What did you use? Any suggestions?

I know a lot of folks use the Ninja or some other highly expensive blender, I just bought one from walmart for like $20-$30 and it did a great job. I couldn't justify spending $150 on something I knew I wasn't going to use after post op diet because I have a juicer, and a really awesome blender that sucks as a food processor.

I was just going to post asking about this. I'm actually looking online at blenders right now. I'm thinking of getting the ninja pulse or the ninja professional...I really can't tell the difference except size and one is 80 the other is 140$ lol never had a blender so no experience at all but I hear nothing but good about ninja so that's a brand I'm sticking too just trying to figure out how much I wanna pay

Hands down the vitamix!

Lots of excellent blenders on the market like Blendtec, Vitamix, ninja. Cusinart is sort of the gold standard of food processors. However if you don't want to spend much, aren't looking for top of the line, Krups and Black & Decker make good small appliances.
