I got sleeved on Monday April 1! I had the drain removed today. I'm anxious and would love to have tips and words of wisdom.

keep drinking :) I got dehydrated in the beginning and it was awful!! Also take it slow, don't expect to eat much. Remember this is a learning experience and their will be bumps in the road, I am only 4 months out and everyday I am still learning what I can tolerate.

Thanks for the tip Sarah. It is harder to keep taking sips than it should be. I keep thinking of all the sensations I feel.

Im 32 also. I was sleeved on march 26. I'm worried I'm drinking too much! Im so scared of getting dehydrated. I'll take tiny sips all day. Then sometimes I forget I have a smaller stomach and I gulp! Ugh. So far I haven't thrown up at all so I'm thankful of that!

I'm also 32. I was sleeved in Mexico on 3/18. I'm now on full liquids. No puking or sliming. I hope to keep it that way! So far my recovery has been pretty decent. Knock on wood!

How was you experience with Dr. Aceves?

How was you experience with Dr. Aceves?

I had a good experience with Dr Aceves. Like you said, Dr Campos is handsome. The doctors and coordinators speak English well, but not the nurses. That was difficult at night. I used my handy useful phrases sheet as well as babel fish to translate online. After the drain came out, most of the discomfort did as well.

How long did you wait before weighing yourself for the first time?

I waited 2 weeks when I had follow up with my PCP. 27 lbs gone! My next weigh in will be 2 weeks from this coming Monday. I refuse to obsess about the scale.

I speak a little, very little, Spanish. That coupled with Google Translate we always got our messages across to each other. It was a learning experience! :-)

I am going to try not to obsess with the scale either... try being the operative word. Why did you follow up with your PCP? Was that mainly to get your heart checked out?

I see my cardiologist today. My PCP checked my incisions. Did blood work. Checked my weight and vitals. Basically I am keeping him completely in the loop.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
