Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

So I am really desperate for a ride from and to the airport on Thursday. Since land at 1:30 have my appointment at 2:30 and then fly out at 5, the super shuttle won't take me to the airport after 2:15. Stupid supershuttle. I will gladly pay gas money. I am just running out of options. I can try to rent a car, but because I am not 25 yet the extra fees are ridiculous!

Okay Marie, you're in luck! I had a computer class and they cancelled it today. I can pick you up on Thursday at 1:30. Tell me what airlines and I'll be there at the curb. I drive a White Toyota Highlander. It's not a problem, Dear! I'm glad I can help! I'll PM you my cell phone number and if you can send me yours.

Okay, I have a question for those of you who are faster losers, rather than slooooowwww like me. I have been losing MUCH faster since I started taking Metformin 10 days ago (4.5 lbs in 10 days vs 4 lbs in a month). Anyhoo, I haven't changed my Fluid intake or my calories or anything, but I have been urinating like crazy. Does this mean that I am just losing Water and soon I will go back to the slooowwwww loss? Or do you urinate a lot when you're losing weight quickly? Hope that question made sense. It seems to me, since the byproducts of fat metabolism are water and carbon dioxide, it would increase your urine output. But maybe I'm completely wrong. I'm just scared that I'll lose 5 or 6 lbs of water then go back to my 1/2 lb a week or whatever.

It's possible that you were fluid overloaded for awhile Mini. The Metformin helps with a lot of things and one of them may very well be fluid balance. Getting your glucoses in order will help.

By the way Deb (Tally), what day are you returning to CO? I'm going on the 5th for my first fill.

I'm getting my next fill, if I need it on the 4th!

Okay, not sure what metformin is for, but I know the more consistently I drink water (3+ quarts a day), keep my sodium low, and cut out the wine:blush: the faster I lose.

I have been on a rolling scale for over a week (up 2, down 1, up 5, down 6...and so on)finally I am back to my lowest. Hopefully, I will start on a downward trend soon. Ugh, with holidays coming. My folks' 60th anniversary is this week and I am cooking Mac and 2 cheeses with caramelized shallots...never tried recipe before but am sure they will enjoy it....and I will enjoy my two small bites:laugh:

Metformin is for my pre-diabetic/diabetic problem. It helps your cells to use the glucose from your food.

Oh, I do so hate that up down up down up down thing. But I would give anything for a couple of bits of your mac and cheese dish. Yum!!!!

Yay!!! I'm so happy for you!!! :D

They say 3rd time is the charm. That's great and all, but I'm hoping 1st time is the charm. Flying to and from Denver gets rather pricey

By the way, I have been reading so much in the November 2008 Bandsters forum, and I think every single person who has had their surgery in November was starving by Day 2-3. Is that usually the case with everyone? Or are they just suffering "head hunger"? I can't say that I've really felt the hunger yet, and I'm 6 days post-op. I feel bad reading all their posts about wanting to chew off their own arms. I just don't get it?! What kind of experience did you guys have with the hunger? Did it really come back that fast? Or are those people just thinking that they're hungry?

Nah Dee, you're not a regular squirrel. You're like the Mama Squirrel, leading all us young squirrels to the light, giving us guidance, helping us have a better BAND life. You're Super Squirrel!!!! :D

I don't remember getting really hungry until a week or so out . . . but I could be foggy on my memory. Probably am foggy on my memory.

Jme,

I don't think I was hungry for a few days. Then I was ok with the mushies. Dr. K let me advance my diet pretty quickly.

Mini-

So despite the crazy mother, I have decided to go to NC anyway...however, my sister and I have devised several plans to drive her crazy in return. :D And they are good....I can't wait.

I am going to the Ball still also, so I get to dress like a princess again. Yay!

And maybe, if I am REALLY lucky, I will be able to steal my sisters car for the day and go meet Jaime, because that would be the absolute BOMB!!!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
