Banded one year ago. What a diffrence a year has made.

Recommended Posts

I got my health back.

I do not look so old and sick.

I have got of insulin.

I can buy cute clothes. Not that old lady stuff anymore.

I have gone from a size 22-24 to a 14

I feel so much better

From 218-155

Thank you for all your help in getting me where I am today.

Best of all this Thanksgiving I was wearing a pair of size 33 Gloria Vanderbilt Jeans. Standing in the same spot I stood just one year ago in a size 42. See pic below.

One year ago I was wondering what it would be like after a year banded.

It is better than I thought I could be.

I love my Band

I am going to try to post before and after picture but if it does not work you can click in this thread.

I would lie to post a before and after picture But the pictures are to big can someone help me do this?

Wow, what a difference a year makes! I'm coming up for a year too (December 9) and I am a totally changed person from what I was a year ago.

I didnt really think I had a lot of emotional issues attached to being overweight, and I didnt really but my outlook and plans for the future, well lets just say they involve STILL running half marathons when I'm 70!

You look so different and I bet you feel it too.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
