quickly full but hungry every couple hours

Recommended Posts

9 days post op. I am so TIRED of hearing all these people talk about how much they dont want food...have no desire...not tempted at all by anything. I just dont get it. I do get full quickly...but i am hungry just about every 2-3 hours. When i get out in the real world...bad food teases me. However i dont give in...i am doing very well. This just seems normal even with having wls. Can some please tell me if they are having the same issues and how they are dealing with it.

I just dont get how having this surgery can just totally make a person just not want food at all????

Well in the beginning I didn't want food. I barely wanted to progress through the stages. Now I do want food but not nearly as much bad stuff as I would have before surgery. I can't ever even image going to McDonalds again, I really don't eat out, I basically eat whole foods and sometimes a cheat here and there. Your outlook changes along with your new tiny tummy. Give it time, yours will too!

I was like that in the beginning. I was sleeved on January 14th. To me if I couldn't eat what I wanted I didn't want to eat. It does get easier once you get passed stages 1 and 2 though. Now I can eat pretty much whatever, just in small amounts.

Are you taking antacids also? I noticed when I started to I wasnt feeling as hungry. Alot of people confuse hunger with the roaring of stomach acid. I know I did ar the beginning. .. but now im 5 weeks out and I do get hungry. I wish I didnt but I did.. I get hungry about evwry 3 hours so I eat.. every 3 hours. But the tint bit of food u do eat is very satisfying. Also some say then eventually lost hunger further down the road.

Could be gas or indigestion. That's usually what it is for me. Three weeks out and finding I can eat more now and seem hungry too but I usually ignore it.

I get full quickly but have noooo hunger what so ever. I have to remind myself to eat. But I can eat with no problems I have 4 medium pieces of shrimp and baby sweet potatoes for dinner and a boiled egg for lunch. Yesterday I didn't eat much at all just shakes. I'm down from 243 to 218 so no complaint 3 weeks post op

I will be 3 weeks post-op on Tuesday and I get hungry too. I get full quickly, can only eat about 8-10 bites but find myself hungry in a few hours. I have really been making great healthy choice but I am in the soft food stage right now and counting calories and I am getting in about 830/day. My NUT said I should be taking in between 6-800 calories so I am even over my calorie range but I find I do better if I eat every few hours. I hope it gets better with time.

I eat every three hours. I know some people on here say you can't get "hungry"..well, I do. Hi my name is Jana and I get hungry lol. It's not a hungry like before, but more of an empty feeling. I can still only get about 2 oz down...maybe if I could eat the full 4 oz I wouldn't eat as often lol.

I'm a little more than a month out and yes, I can only eat maybe 4 or 5 bites and then I'm full. Then maybe a couple hours later I'm hungry again. It is very nice! I love my sleeve! Now if I could only fight off the bad food triggers, I'd be in there like swim wear!!!

Well I'm 3 months postoperative and I wouldn't say that I don't get hungry - I definitely do, but it's different now - I don't get ravenous like I used to and eating is just not this all-encompassing desire like it used to be. This surgery definitely took a major edge off of hunger. And when I do get hungry, my eyes are way way bigger than my stomach! I'll get this and this and that on the plate , and previously I would have eaten all of it and gone back for more, now I eat half and I feel like I might barf!

I think the deal is, you end up eating much less over the same amount of time, and once you do that month after month, there can be no other result than to lose substantial weight.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
