Hey Guys...

I just have to say that I am pretty darned bummed that we are having a wet and warm Christmas. :) Every year it seems to get warmer and warmer??? Poor hunters can't hardly get any snow for tracking. Anyhoo... listening to it pour down and wishing I could look out and see fluffy flakes instead. Shoot... it's like being back in California for the holidays!

Basically all finished wrapping... now just have to make a b-day cake for my daughter for our family gathering on Christmas Eve day. She'll be with her Dad on her B-day on Christmas Day. Still have to plan the menu for our party on the 28th but a Honey Bake Ham arrived at my door yesterday (Not a clue who it is from?) so that will definitely be served!

I've enjoyed being unfilled... scheduled to go in on the 29th and will have to decide what to do ... fill or forgetaboutit.

Mary... So glad everything is okay with your band, (((hugs)))

Betty... Still having stomach issues even with the unfill... I imagine I will have my band removed eventually. Anyhoo... Are you getting snow????

Eileen... Still in your PJ's?

Kat... Girl... you look awesome and you sure as heck have a lot of energy! COme help me with my party???? :)

Cindy... How's retirement suiting you so far????? I remember I bawled all of the way home after my last day of work... I got over that...lol.

Mandy... Sounds like you can kick butt and take names later...lol. I'll be letting you loose on Hyundai for me soon...lol.

Irene... Hope those antibiotics have kicked in!

Dianne... GLad you are feeling a wee bit better... You'll be smiling and laughing soon!

OMIGOSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.... IT"S SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Patty... Hang in there girl... do whatcha can and let go of the things you can!

Okay...have to go watch the snow just in case it doesn't last... been depressed and I know this will help me smile...

Love ya all...

Darcy

Cindy, I thought you might have retired and then decided to travel or stay in your jammies all day. How is the stay at home mom thing? You retired from teaching but have taken on a whole new job, one that is much more fun, and the end result is soooo much more rewarding. ~Mandy

Good Morning,

NatesMom, CONGRATULATIONS

Cindy, awww I really do understand how you feel, its not hard to leave a job but it is hard to leave your friends/co workers/students. Maybe you could do subsituting or volunteer at the school every now and then. Congratulations :)

Beanie, did you see the uncut version of the grinch? the part where he takes the mistletoe and puts it by his ass and says kiss this? ROFLMFAO, I almost died b/c my DD was laughing so hard. I didn't expect that part LOL

Darcy, thats a beautiful picture. Did you get alot of snow? How was DD's birthday?

Betty I didn't do any baking except last week when my sisters came over. I think because there is an overwhelming amount of crap laying around I have lost my desire to eat it. Strangeeeeeeeeeeeeee huh. How's the tumm tumm?

Mandy you go girl, wash those clothes LOL

Mary enjoy the time off. I heard about the airports being closed by you and its been in the news every day since you all had that snow. Is it any better today?

Well today I am meeting Dianne at 9:30 for breakfast.... where??? dunno yet but I'm sure she'll call. Can't wait to see her.

I've been up since 4 AM doing laundry...sucks but what can you do.

Gotta get my nephew something for christmas and I think I'm done shopping...crap I can't remember what I got for who ... ya think thats a sign of CRAFT disease??? (can't remember a F****** thing) LOLOL snort ~

Well goiles, if DH fixes my laptop, I'll be back later to see what your all up to...if not I'll post tomorrow on his pc.

Luv yah's :)

Cindy... Didn't say you'll get over it... but will say you are going to love being able to focus a lot more attention on your family and yourself.

Nope... it quit and I'm sure it will melt away before Christmas... but it was beautiful to watch. I really do hate how cold the winters usually get here but there is a California girl in me that is thrilled by every snowfall. When I was a single Mom... living on a corner lot with sidewalks up the ying yang and was working 12 hour shifts that generally worked out to 13 or 14 hours... I would come home dog tired... and it would be snowing...and I would be shoveling and crying all at the same time... I still thought the fluffy crap was beautiful...lol.

Hi everyone. I just got caught up on reading. I have been catching up on my shopping and errands the past couple of days. I think I am going through withdrawals from reading the posts. I am pretty much done with shopping, but I have wrapped nothing. Yikes. I have to get it done today for sure because I have a Christmas on Sunday and another one on Monday. I have to cook a few things for the one on Monday. I am fixing sweet potatoes. At least I can bake them on Sunday and prepare them on Monday morning. I tend to miss sleep during this time of year. Go figure.

My sister and I were going to serve dinner at a shelter sometime on Monday, but I don't know if she got the info of where and when. We have not done it before and thought we should.

I will try to quit lurking and participate. lol

I really enjoy reading your posts.

If I don't find time to get back here before, I hope you ALL have a great holiday!!!!!!! You guys are great.

LOL! Are you kidding?! I am lucky to get my jammies on at all! We'll talk soooo much more about retirement AFTER the holidays...when I can breathe. Oh, and DD and DH go back to school....Hahahaha!

Wow, Eileen, you beat me up this morning. I thought 6:30 was early! I love CRAFT disease...well, not the actual disease, because I suffer from it, too...I just like the new name for it.

We just got home from a family get together...have 98% of the wrapping done. Tomorrow is cleaning, then church, then dad's for gumbo...then home and stocking stuffing.

Darcy, some morning we'll "meet" in the chat room for coffee, okay? You can tell me more about how to manage my "new life". Maybe Mandy can meet with us, too?

Julie...are you still in for New Year's Day coffee?

I'll check in with you wonderful girls tomorrow!

It's Christmas Eve!!!!

Wow...is everybody ready?

I still have to clean (well, DH and DD are doing the floors!)

Set out the Christmas stocking stuff, and fill them.

I've ironed Mary's (DD's friend) and the shepherd's costumes for the play tonite...

And, after weighing this morning, I just HAD to spend the time to change my sticker...my one little vanity of today. I think it's a great gift to myself: 80 pounds lost! I've never been happier to lose something! LOL!

Just wanted to share that with my best support pals...ya'll ARE the best!

Good Morning,

DH is working on our PC's cleaning, updating, etc., so I only just got on now. Today will be tidying up, a little cooking..not much b/c I'm just not in the mood LOL and getting ready for santa tonight. Then when it gets dark we will go outside and look for that Star.... the star of hope, the star of love :biggrin1: and DD will say a prayer or two. Thats about it.

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and remember.... Jesus is the Reason for the Season :huggie:

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
