I really dont know how to work this so hopefully I can see if anyone replies.

My surgery is scheduled for April 5th and im struggling with my 2 week liquid diet.< /p>

The shakes are gross. I can't switch brands yet because I paid 110 dollars for these so ive been holding my nose and chugging. I know I can't do that after surgery and hopefully ill find a shake I can tolerate. Anyway im 286 now I started at 305 my goal is 150. I have pcos high blood pressure and a few other problems which are the main reasons im doing this. I appreciate positive energy prayers and any tips I can get.

You can do this! Stay strong and keep chugging. I love Syntrax Nectar brand Protein powders. Also, Premier Protein shakes are good. I found them at Meijer in the weight loss section but I know a lot of people buy them at Sams Club. Your tastes may change after surgery so I wouldn't buy a lot of anything before surgery. Get samples if possible. I buy from mybariatricpantry.com. Good luck!

I want to try the ones at sams. Im nervous because I've cheated already so hungry and even though I hold my nose and chug I still vomit a little. Ive tried adding crystal light too nothing works.

They are also in bulk so if you dont like them youll be stuck again. I used to get pure shakes from my grocery or walmart.. 4 in a pack in chocolate or vanilla. Maybe youd like them and could get you through this rough patch. At vit shoppe they have a case where they have Protein sports drinks in singles. I love the designer whey blitz grape and i also like Isopure grape and blue raspberry although many dont. Fill in for now and then go back and drink up that other stuff. Im doing the same thing! I also just gave some of it away to the facility where my surgery was done. There are others who cant afford the shakes that can use it. I had Protein and Vitamins that i bought and could not stand at all so youre not alone. A lesson well learned though. They suggest samples on here. Wish i had listened!

The Premier Protein shakes I bought at Meijer were sold in 4 packs, not bulk. It's worth a shot if you have a Meijer near you Walmart does not sell them. samples are not too expensive and worth it to find what you like :)

Well, you'll have tons of it on here! :)

Im on day 7 of 7 pre op diet and trust me i know what your feeling with the shakes! Premier Protein is good (choc & strawb) but i found tricks my NUT approved:

- sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast- add 2 tblsp of instant coffee put over ice & blend (soo delicious!)

Or i would add unsweetend cocoa powder to my shakes

Good luck to you!

I'm new too! My surgery is April 3. I have Proteinex Liquid Protein that is lemon lime flavored that you add to Water. I add a packet of crystal light n can drink it without a problem. There is 18g Protein in 2 tablespoons. I personally can't stomach the vanilla or chocolate mixes however I can drink the Atkins chocolate shakes. They are like watered down milk. Good luck :)

I couldn't do any of the "shakes" - I tried them all and thought they were gross! I DID, however, like the fruit drink mixes I found on American Bariatrics (most other Bariatric websites sell them as well) - they are like drinking a Crystal Light. What really helped me was ordering a Sampler Pack from American Bariatrics. It was like $40, and it came with samples of a TON of their different products! It allowed me to sample several different items before settling on what I liked. I ordered a couple boxes of products I liked before surgery. However, I am glad I didn't order too much. I LOVED their cappucino mixes (15 grams Protein, 90 calories, and I mixed it with my coffee so I didn't get caffeine headaches!). They even worked well for my first week post-op. However, I am now at the 8th day post-op, and this morning, it was hard to get that cappucino down. Back to the starting blocks...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
