Ate one slice of 7" pizza frm dominos! :)

Recommended Posts

I'm 5 weeks post op.. And was out with frnds who didn't know about my surgery... So I tried eating one slice of small pizza.. Onion and capsicum.. With the crust.. Was hoping not to make it awkward infront of others and yay! I was able to eat it.. Chewed it like 50 times each bite.. But I felt so happy after eating it! I'm still on soft diet according to the docs but I was happy I was able to eat it with out discomfort.. Hope I did it right and it wudnt harm my body.. Has anyone else eaten a pizza too?

A lot of us have ate something we shouldn't have on a post-op diet. I didn't eat pizza, but I ate a couple yogurt covered pretzels. You just need to get back on the horse and follow your doctors orders, so you don't risk any damage to your stomach. And yeah...you have to limit carbs, and as you know Pizza Crust has a ton of them.

There is a reason the doctor wants you to eat a certain way. That is because it is your best of chance of healing without any additional complications - like leaks. So make sure you stick to those orders. :)

Its ok to test yourself every now but don't fall in the bad habits of trying to eat the old junk we did in the past. pizza has its advantages and disadvantages so chalk it up as a slider food. I have pizza every once in awhile and like you its only one piece which doesn't discourage me about the total carb intake. Enjoy your sleeve and remember its a journey so don't get discouraged by the post that are coming about the devastating consequences of eating 1 piece of pizza.

I would imagine that's a big improvement than what the old you would have eaten, so congrats! :)

I'm almost 3 months post op and can eat a piece of pizza no problem. If its thin crust, I can even eat two. I've had pizza 3 times since surgery.

It's sad how excited your post made me! I'm 4 weeks post op and have been dying for pizza. I don't even need a whole piece. I'd be okay with two bites.

Just because someone else does it, doesn't make it the right thing to do. Maybe just eat the topping, or stop and think things through before you do. I just realized you are 4 weeks out. Don't do it yet, wait at least until 8 weeks, hopefully the desire will pass.

I was craving the taste of pizza so I had the deli slice me four wafer thin slices of pepperoni. I also got some fresh mozzarella. I put the pepperoni on a paper plate between papertowels andnuked it for about 15 seconds. That crisped it up and got rid of a bunch of grease. Then I melted some cheese on it and put a bit of Tomato sauce on top. Pepperoni pizza. Cured the craving with no crust.

Eating one slice of pizza on occasion is not going to sabotage your weight loss. I am a big proponent of nothing being off limits as long as its in moderation.

I am so glad you enjoyed it, I am going to have a slice tomorrow!

I totally agree with you, Dana. I just cannot eat the bread right now so I have to just stick with the toppings until I can.

This made me laugh because I too ate one slice tonight. I am on soft foods for anther week but had no issues with it.

I was beating myself up about it but thought if this is my only "junk" food I will allow this one time and i still get all my Water and Protein in then I'm ok with it. My calories were 100 for the day more than my goal but I met all the rest of my goals even with the slice.

I do not plan on having it again for a long time -I worked too darn hard to go back. I am planning on doubling my time at the gym tomorrow. I made a bad choice but it was so freaking good.

Just my 2 cents.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
