I was dizzy and lightheaded at certain times for about 2 weeks postop. Your blood sugar is probably low, and u cut calories drastically. Keep getting in all your fluids. It will pass when calories increase. If any concerns call your dr to make sure.

I have issues with anxiety. That I attribute to the crazy things hormones are doing with rapid weight loss.

Also I get dizzy real easy. Some people experience that when their dehydrated. Try to get no less then 60oz of Water a day at minimum. The more the better. My dizziness is more attributed to the drop in BP. Preop I was 136/88. Wednesday at my three week it was down to 106/60.

Heather, I noticed that immediately after surgery. My blood pressure dropped like yours. How do we raise it??? If this is what my life is going to be like, I made the biggest mistake. I'm nervous and anxious about the whole thing. Sleeved 3/19

I am going to my PCP to discuss what can be done. In the meantime, to help prevent dizzy spells upon standing, I move my ankles and flex my calfs. Get the blood moving.

Low BP can be treated by adding more salt to your diet. Not tons, but a reasonable amount. If you are on meds for high BP, I would suggest getting with PCP soon to adjust your dosage. Take your time getting up, flex ankles and calfs, and walk to get your heart moving the blood. Low BP isn't something to take lightly, but with direction from your PCP who knows your medical history, it can often be treated fairly easy.

Love this site! So helpful. Whatever ails me, I look on here and people are discussing it! I was feeling really jittery and anxious today. I immediatlely thought it was my blood pressure or the fact that I have have not had any Protein in the last 2 days. I cannot gag it down. It's repulsive to me! All I can eat is Soup and pop cycles. Anyway, I have been on high blood pressure meds for 2 years and I'm still taking same dosage. I have lost 19 lbs. since 3/8. So, my doseage might be too high And I'm sure this rapid wt. loss isn't helping with my well being. I took a hot shower and 1/2 Xanax and I feel better. Still scary.

Also with so much change happening, our body's are in shock. You are still really fresh out of surgery. I feel it is normal to have the buyers remorse with such a drastic change. But give it time. Let your body heal. Adjust to your new "normal" relationship with food. And above all listen to your body and talk to your surgeon and/or PCP about concerns.

I haven't had much gas pain but it seems today, 3 days out, my chest has more... I'm just so worried about everything. I keep crying... If I can make 2 weeks, I may feel better...

Do your breathing exercises. That will help clear any crud that may have settled. Also I found if I drink too much at one time I get some pain around my diaphragm. Best advice I can give is pay attention to what your body says. If something feels not right don't hesitate to call your docs office.

Focus on daily victories. Like if you get your daily Water in, Celebrate that. If you walk 5x in one day celebrate that. One day at a time. Before you know it, you will be two weeks out and feeling much better. Day four was not fun for me. After about day six I started to feel human again.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
