Overate and Feel Lousy

Recommended Posts

Was sleeved on March 4. Was in a hurry yesterday morning so I took a small container of premade Jello pudding, stirred in a scoop of Protein Powder and ate it in about 5 minutes. Big mistake. Felt overstuffed and nauseous. Had to lay down for about 15 minutes for the feeling to go away. Lesson learned.

Amen to that. Last night I ate 3/4 of a banana in about 40 minutes. i swear I could feel the banana squeezing back up.

Thanks for the reminders. I am just on full-liquids but I start to gulp---and have to remind myself. AND I have to watch amounts and taking an appropriate amount of time with those amounts.

Yes you need to be careful there in the beginning.. it does get better tho.. Im post op 3 mon and things are a lot easier.. yes I do have times where I try something new..and my tummy says oh no you dont.. then I learn that I dont like that.. and I dont over eat cuz I dont like that feeling of overly full... so you learn along the way how much at one time you can eat.. sometimes a cup is just too much.. and I cannot believe im saying that where as before if I were to look at a cup of food and think.. thats not nearly enough lol.. Im loving this new journey and the new me.. have a great day and welcome to the losers club.. cant wait to be in onderland.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
