Anyone going in May alone.. I don't want my family to know they will not approve and my husband staying with the kids:( So I was wondering if anybody was going alone

I'm going alone. May 8th with Dr. Lopez in Tijuana. I just spoke to a friend who had her surgery yesterday. She said they are taking excellent care of her and loves the doctors, hospital, and hotel. Hope this helps cause it really helped me.

Sleeve scheduled for May 10th at MI with Dr. Lopez. My sis-in-law and I are both having it done and my hubby (who had his done at home in New Orleans in November) is coming to be our caretaker! Hope we don't give him too much trouble! I am very nervous but reading most of these posts help calm some of my fears.

Are you guys allowed to have caffeine during pre-op? I have coffee on my list of approved liquids, but I don't know about the caffeine??

I have been drinking caffeine the whole time and my surgery is Friday...From what I saw the important factor was making sure you have lots of Water and it must be calorie free..Post op is where I thought the caffeine had to be nixed...I have just been cutting down from 3-4 diet cokes a day to 3-4 per week...I have lost 12lbs in 2weeks on the preop diet..

I'm only allowed Decaf in the pre-op two weeks.

They want us to do caffeine free for the same reason pre-op as post-op. Caffeine is a diuretic and can aid in dehydration.

That being said, it's been the ONLY area where I haven't been super faithful to my pre-op. I just try and make sure I get in extra Fluid when I drink caffeine and monitor my urine color (lol that's sounds so nasty) to make sure I'm well hydrated. I'll be compliant and give it up post op, but for now, I am dragging as I'm adjusting to fluids only and caffeine helps me not pass out! lol it's better now on day 4 than day 1, so I'll try and drop it for week two of pre-op! :)

Thanks for sharing. I really only have 1 cup of coffee a day. I guess I can start diluting it with 1/2 Decaf, then go to 100% decaf. I only have a week to go... ughh.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
