I wish I had your discipline! I started running recently and I'm hungry! Maybe I'll skip the ff h & h for a week and see what happens. I don't buy coffee out much, preferring coffee I make myself, but I can easily do 5 cups in a day when it's colder. I fon't like the fat free h & h because it's too sweet. I have switched to some lower fat cheese recently though.

Oh Lordy, I know what you mean about five cups of coffee. I am on #3 so far. For about four months, I've been making a small pot mid-afternoon. I was at a support group last night and the clinical psychologist was talking about caffinated (sp?) drinks, especially coffee. Right this minute, I cannot tell you what he said.....I think I may have blocked that part!!! LOL

You can lay off the Half & Half, like you said, for a week or so, and see what happens.

You are running??!!! I wish I had YOUR oomph!!!

Also, something else to think about......cheese, even 2% cheese is HIGH in calories. When I started maintainence, I had to get MORE calories and initially bought some cheese and also got some roasted almonds. I realized that even though they are both considered good Snacks, both are very high in calories. I believe a fourth cup of nuts is about 200 calories. At almost 3 years out, a fourth cup is not a lot. Eating cheese once a day as a snack and eating nuts once a day......and then if I WANTED something else.....it was way too much, those calories add up quickly!!

Now days I'm buying LF Graham Crackers and Natural Peanut Butter....a little PB on a graham, I'm addicted, I think!!! It's all about choosing, even now...especially now. I can eat a half serving (1 full cracker) with a little PB on it, 3x's a day now that I'm in maintenence. Or yesterday, I had that twice and once I had an orange. I was having a morning snack, but recently cut that one out. I eat lunch at 11, so it was just a 'habit' that I'd developed. This continues to be a learning experience!! :) Good luck!!!

The first time I was in a stall, when I asked the office nurse about it, she said up Protein and fluids. It worked every time. I've heard people say they've been told to up calories. Common sense should tell us, increasing calories didn't make up lose weight prior to surgery....that has not changed. :) Stalls are just part of it, if we aren't eating stuff we should not be eating during our honeymoon period, then everything is like it should be.....it's part of it, and it will end. It's frustrating but then we wake up one morning, get on the scale and two or three lbs are gone!!!

An endoscope is a camera they all use during laproscopic surgery, it lets them see what they're doing/dealing with. The bougie is kind of like a templet. It's a medical instrument the physician uses. Here is a youtube video, it's graphic, but pretty cool.

44 lbs in six weeks??!!!! That is fantastic!!! Think of it, 44 lbs, gone FOREVER!!! Prior to surgery, even though I could do the newest fad diet, or pop prescription diet pills and LOSE some weight, I always knew I would regain it, plus some, eventually. This is different, this surgery allows us to make better choices. Forced Portion Control plus, without the hunger, even if we 'want' something, we are in control, it is so much easier to resist. At least that is my experience for the past 33 months!

I do drink almost entirely Decaf coffee. I rarely go for leaded but I do drink leaded iced tea and when it starts to warm up, I drink lots of it. I tried to be good for a long time and made my own decaf iced tea, but I love the Tejava because it's so convenient.

Yes, I started to run. I made it up to 22 minutes outside and 26.5 minutes on the treadmill. Working up to a 5k.

Its true, I don't pay much attention to fat content and I should start really watching if I want to get further than I am!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
