Has anyone tried a long island? Another prior favorite. I bet those take your sleeve for a ride.

I was told 6 months but I think it is due to empty calories and then if you get drunk you may eat without thinking. I had crystal light and vodka about two weeks ago and I had a slight buzz.

Is that all at once? With the sleeve' date=' 3 will probably cause pretty severe intoxication. Heck, one glass of wine makes us drunk.[/quote']

"us" is a bit of a sweeping statement ... One ... two .... three glasses does not make me drunk. I had a bottle of wine 3 months out .... nothing :( sad face cos I was really hoping to be a cheap drunk!!

Yes. You are correct. We all have different levels of tolerance.

Folks should exercise caution with the booze. One of my friends is four years out and has gained 40 if the 100 pounds she lost due to wine consumption. She says it goes down very easy and she also does not get drunk quickly. It is dangerous stuff in more ways than one.

I have had 3 or 4 glasses in a night. Only drink once a week or at a sporting event. I'm 6 foot 2 and finally under 300 pounds but honestly I don't get very buzzed on that...just nice to enjoy a drink with the guys at a sporting event. Although I do get crap about drinking wine when they are drinking manly beers. Weight still falling off so it seems to b ok for me

I had a vodka cranberry last weekend and didn't get sick or even tipsy. It seems like some people get drunk faster and some ppl it isn't any different than before surgery. For me it's the latter...so unfortunately I'm not as cheap of a date as I wanted!

I'm like you. I was looking forward to getting tipsy on less, but it seems to affect me no differently than before surgery.

Wow! I do love my wine but have decided to give up cheap white wine and when I get to the point when I can enjoy a glass again I have vowed to only drink good red wines and enjoy a glass once a week or so.

The only harm alcohol causes us is empty calorie weight gain. Most likely people get drunk more quickly due to the fact you have abstained from alcohol for a good bit of time. Your tolerance is different.

I used to enjoy a couple glasses of wine every night, but 2 now is way different. I don't do it simple because I'm still trying to make goal and wine is way off my course.

It's a mind set

Can we cause any harm to our sleeve? Damage? Stretch? I am thinking if trying a cocktail on vacation next month at 10 weeks post op.

Thoughts?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
