Hey 2 lbs a week is awesome. My surgeon said that 2 lbs a week is what I should shoot to lose.

I have just started Water aerobics this summer. I love it. So give me 2 a week. Slow and steady wins the race. Hey it took me 25 years to gain it all so taking a year to lose it all.... okay, I guess i can be patient.

Plus I think about how good I feel now and how much more I can do. Heck going up the stairs without wanting to keel over at the top totally rocks. And I can even beat my hubby in the number of push ups I can do.

Lol, that's great!! I don't lose 2per week, but I try very hard!! My body says "not yet!" I feel so much lighter that it surprises me sometimes. I feel so much better physically and so much better emotionally. It's definitely been worth it :)

I'm a slow loser too, but I am consistently losibg 2lbs a week. Pre-op 233, SW 218, CW 184. Surgery date was 3/18.

I eat under 800 calories a day. Carbs are usually under 50 carbs sometimes less and ive had a few bad days where its been more. I work out 3-5 days a week my aversge is 4 and I burn 250-350 calories per session or more.

I don't know how to boost my loss. I just want to lose a consistent 10 mobth

I would love a consistent 10 per mo also. Like you, I need to know how to get a jumpstart !

I think you are on to something because when I have 1 or 2 Protein Shakes a day, I lose more weight compared to when I just have food only. I am starting to think that the extra Protein throws our body out of starvation mode. I don't know what else it could be ???

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
