Yay, I lost another pound overnight!!! Whooohooo , the horrible 4 week long stall is over for now!!! Shellybean, if I can do it, anybody can!!! If it helps any, I cut my carbs to below 50 (as opposed to 100), upped my Protein to about 80, and increased my fluids. I still drink my 2 shakes per day. I had tried upping my calories and doing WW points and neither one worked for me although it has helped others. My biggest change was tossing out the protein bars...one of my friends called them "glorified candy bars", and I think they kept me from losing!! I hope this may help you some, too. That stall was depressing me so bad...bless your heart, I will say a prayer for you that yours will break this weekend!!! <3

Is anyone mixing solid and liquid ? My Dr. told me to keep at least 30 min gap between eating and drinking.

Are you doing that ??

At first I didn't think it was important, so I mixed the two. Now I understand the importance, since it is important that our bodies can absorb the Protein we need to keep our hair from falling out and cause us to lose fat. Remember: protein melts the fat, Water flushes it out. That helps me to remember to be able to get the protein in and keep it there long enough to be absorbed.

I am. It was one thing my Nut was very specific about. In the beginning I was to keep 30 mins on each side. Now (2 mos out) I am to stop 15 mins before eating and 60 min after. It allows you to fill up on food and prevents your sleeve from being " washed out" and emptied by liquid. If that happens you *may* eat more since all food isn't staying and giving you the "satisfied" feeling.

I've taken a sip or two and it actually makes me full and feel sick. So no, I don't do it and it's hard! I find it makes getting liquid in a challenge.

It is very difficult for me to get used to this, but I do it because of the nutrients...

Yeah - that's my challenge too. I have to really remember and drink something after 1/2 hour - if I skip that - then I get hungry again and keep postponing drinking part.

Try adding some Peanut Butter and a frozen banana to some chocolate powder, it makes it better. I use 1/2 c Decaf coffee in mine, that's all the liquid so that I can get it down like a thick milkshake !! I drink Water later!

Someone on here said the Water during could wash the undigested food into your intestines and cause slurry which turns into fat....I'm not risking it, lol

I was sleeved on the 4th' date=' and the only real problem I am having is that I can't stand the Protein supplements. Any helpful hints?[/s']

Try flavorless protein. I just pour mine into things I like and it tastes like nothing....added. gl

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
