3 Weeks Out, Eat one or two bites and I'm full, When will I be able to eat more?

Recommended Posts

I am 3 weeks out and I'm not hungry at all. This is fine. When I do try to eat something I find I can't eat more than a bite or two and I feel full and cannot eat more. An example is those little tuna salad kits with crackers. I mix up the tuna salad, don't eat the crackers and after eating only half the tuna I have to stop.

I hear a good amount for a sleever is the size of a children's meal. How long before I will be able to eat even that much?

Went out to lunch with a good friend. Had a very small serving of cottage cheese and I couldn't even eat half of it.

When were you able to eat more at one time? I still have the gas (grouch pouch) issue too. Phazyme does help with that.

Thanks!

I was sleeved 10/22 and a children's meal would make me sick. There's no way I could eat that much. Depending on the density of what I'm eating, I can eat from about 1/3 (dense protein) to 1/2 a cup (soup) at a time. Some of the longer term sleevers that are a year or so out have mentioned they can do about a cup of food at a time.

I was sleeved on Nov 13 , 2013 , so appoximatly 3 1/2 months post op . My start weight was 237 , Day of surgery 222 and as of this morning 185 . I found that the first 2 1/2 months , I was much like you after just a few bites and I was so full that if i took another bit ,I ended up throwing up but with the creamy or chunky Soups I never had a problem eating a full cup .

I find that with time , I can hold down more food but I don't know if that's good or not , because I have a sense of guilt . I don't push myself I have always known when to stop . This past month I have been craving hearty meals and I seem more hungry more frequent . I am not to worried because my weight lose seems steady 51- 52 lbs in 3 1/2 months is pretty good.

Don't worry about eating more. At just over 6 months I still weigh 2 ounces of Protein and have maybe if I can 1/4 cup of veggies. Just worry about getting in your protein requirement each day.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
