ANY APRIL SURGERIES?....

Recommended Posts

Had surgery April 9th was conversion from band. Band was removed December 11th 2013. I'm mentally hungry. Trying to get my Fluid intake is extremely hard. Just don't have the urge to drink. I feel good though in happy so far that I made this choice for conversion. Starting weight well before band 323lb banded 4/1/2013 got down to 230 in June of 2012 but spiked up to 258 in December when band got removed due to complications. Starting weight before vertical sleeve 263 now 243.... AND COUNTING DOWNWARD! :-)

I definitely try doing that but it usually happens around dinner time when hubby is cooking. However the whole family is somewhat eating healthy we don't have any whole milk just skim soy and almond in the house. However I think I am doing too much which has me worried I know I have lifted more than 10lbs numerous amounts of times I bend over due to the kids stuff everywhere and I have walked excessively since day 4. I am not in severe pain so no meds but I am hurting some. I just don't want a hernia at all. :-(

Be careful they removed a hernia on me when I was. Being sleeved my doc said I will have more soreness there I also snack on a few sunflower seeds @ a time I know I'm not suppose 2 but I chew very well & it don't bother me

I had mine april 15th. It's been a week. Best advice is don't let the nurses push you into eating. My second meal I was told to eat yogurt. Big mistake. Take it easy. Stick with broth. Take it slow and know it gets better. So excited for you! It's worth it. Lost 12 lbs already:)

I think it's normal to get nervous. When you question Yourself remember that there is a reason you are this far. There's reasons that made you even look into this surgery. Don't lose sight of the prize. Don't think about the details now. Focus on positive thoughts. It's over before you know it begins. You'll do great:)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
