I cannot tolerate the Protein Shakes. Everytime I drink some get so nauseated. I dont know if I am lactose intolerant or what. So, I am not getting much in. I have emailed my dietician, but have not heard back. I had surgery this past Thursday. Has anyone eaten a boiled egg smashed up real good this soon after surgery. I would get more Protein with that by far than I get with the shakes. Any advice would be appreciated......

I had a hard time eating an egg at a month out. It hurt. There are Protein Shots at Walmart. They have 24-27 grams Protein and they are only 3 ounces. The fruit punch was the best to me. Very very very cold, almost freezing made them easier to swallow. Still taste not so great, but it's a lot less to get down the 8-16 ounces of Protein Shake you can't stand. Good luck!

I drink the nectar fuzzy navel with Water when I am feeling like that! If you're in NE Oklahoma I would be happy to share since it mostly has to be ordered. ...I've seen it at GNC before

I was never able to drink Protein shakes. They made me gag and sick to my stomach too. I ended up making my own.

1 cup of milk 1%

3 Tbsp milk powder

to that you can add....

PB2 (powdered peanut butter)

Torani flavored Syrup

Also, you can eat plain nonfat greek yogurt which is full of Protein, add some sugar free torani syrup for flavor or a splenda

You can't eat an egg yet and should not try at this point....in my opinion. Of course, talk to your doc's office.

Hopefully your dietitian will get back to you soon,

In the mean time I would make sure you are most importantly getting liquids in. I would not recommend "eating" just yet, have you tried other Protein Shakes? sometimes its just about finding the right one...

I don't know about the shots that where mentioned above but you want to make sure that it is a quality Protein like "whey"

I had problems with every shake and powder you can buy over the counter, the only powdered shake I can use is by powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury

I love it. In the meantime you might try EggDrop Soup. I was allowed this, from the Chinese Restaurant. I just asked them not to use cornstarch. You can also make it your self, try doing a search for it.

If you order the Unjury, I love the strawberry Sorbet and the unflavored. The unflavored mixes very well in the chicken broth and many other things. I actual make SF chocolate pudding using that and Almond milk. If box calls for 2 cups of milk use 1 cup of almond milk.

Hope this helps.

I too like the injury unflavored. Another Protein Shake I was able to do is Herbal Life. It's a bit expensive but it mixes well with Water. Other people have tried it and couldn't believe it's Protein.< /p>

I had to omit the milk and made the Protein Shakes with Water. My nauseousness continued until last week. The past month I was sick with the flu that turned into pneumonia. So not sure if the last month nauseousness was from being sick or because of my sleeve. Hopefully you will get over this soon. :)

I love how Muscle Milk tastes, and it has NO MILK, according to the label. They sell it everywhere, in a single bottle. Maybe try that?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
