Stall at 6 weeks Post Op ?

Recommended Posts

I am 6 weeks Post Op and have already hit a stall : (

I started at 196 with a goal weight of 125 so that gave me 71 lbs to lose. I am down 23 lbs but the scale hasn't moved in a full week. I was really expecting much faster results ~ hoping to reach my goal weight by July. With 52 pounds still to go and things moving so slowly I am wondering if this will be possible. 52 pounds is a long way to go in 4 months! Any suggestions?

I was 229 at my 3 week checkup (down 21 pounds) and I'm still not out of the 220s at 6 weeks out. I'm a band to sleeve revisions and I know I'm not getting enough Protein so I'm pretty sure that's my problem. I've started making better effort at my Protein intake and started running so maybe that'll kick start my loss... I go for my next appointment next week and I'm hoping to be officially down 35 pounds (5 pounds per week)...that'll put me at 215. I guess I'll have to see! I know I need to force feed myself at least one Protein shake a day, but can't seem to at the moment since my liquid phase ended...

I think you are doing great, especially at such a low start weight. Good luck with your goals!

Crystal

i too hit a 2 week stall (i am also 6 weeks post op) i upped my Protein to 80 grams and my calories to 800 and over night i lost 4 lbs and have been losing every day. Day of surgery i was 203, i am currently 179. my goal is to be 115-125 depending on what i look like when i reach those numbers. I too was hoping to reach goal this summer and thought i would lose it faster but i am not complaining 1 bit.

I am right there with you. I have lost 20 pounds and I am at 158. I want to be 120-125. I don't have a definite date for that, it is just my goal. I am 6 weeks out

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
