What to do? sugar free or sugar? The dr recommends Powerade zero, crystal light, sugar free Syrup but then I hear its poison. Others say its better than having real sugar. So is Splenda that toxic or just an exaggeration? (I don't like the taste of Splenda anymore since sleeve but I'm curious).

My doc said coffee 2 weeks after surgery and pop 6 mo. after. It is real hard to

Imagine ever going back to either, though. For the first time in my life I have no vices! I am also sleeping better than ever without caffeine.

On a lighter note, Sobe came out with an Acai Rasberry Lifewater! Soooo good! :)

I was a serious diet pepsi addict before surgery. I drank 6-10 cans a day. I have not touched soda 5 months this coming sunday. My favorite drink is Mio orange/tangerine. Mmm mmm

I'll chime in here. My NUT from years ago showed me research stating that the artificial sweeteners in diet soda (aspartame & sucralose to name a couple) create a much higher insulin spike than the regular sugar in regular soda. This causes our bodies to store more fat and can seriously hinder weight loss. Not to mention, it's going to mess with diabetics.

Just because something has 0 calories doesn't mean it's healthy.

I'm not a soda drinker but I stay away from anything "diet". I'm insulin resistant so I won't go near the stuff.

I don't mean to get preachy. You do what works for you. I just thought this would be good info to share.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
