Lucky you! I'm still not feeling much restriction with 2 ccs of omnipaque in the band. Guess I'll be going back in 3 weeks. I'm starting to worry that I'll be one of those people who doesn't have restriction even when the band is filled to capacity. That would be a nightmare.

Hi Enterprise01 ~

It is amazing what a difference .3cc's can make . . . I was absolutely miserable when I was at 2.1, but now at 1.8 I am doing okay . . . It still feels like stuff could easily get stuck, but a definate improvement. Hang in there, when you find the restriction you will definately know it!

On the sublect of fills- I am finally having my first today! Any pain? I 'm nervous. What can I expect? Do they do something to numb the area first?

Kim, they numb me first, a little sting, not bad at all. The worst part of the phil is the crap they make you drink.

Tell us how the fill went.

I've made it through the whole work day without the waistband of my panties sliding down underneath the roll of fat around my stomach. The underwear is finally staying in place. Yay!

Yay - what a GREAT NSV!

THAT IS THE BEST NSV I have ever heard of. I am so happy for you! And I love lapbandtalk.com, without each other where the heck would we be?

Chris I am very proud of you getting your weight under control at age 24, verses waiting until you have serious obese medical problems.

You are doing fantastic!

Have you noticed the girls are starting to stare yet?

Thanks for your reply. I was so nervous about the pain, and what to expect. Knowledge really helps to take away the fear.

I guess every doctor and patient truly is different... Here's how the first fill went for me.

They gave me no numbing medicine at all. The doctor palpated my belly at the port site and was pretty confident, as he had previously told me post surgery, that he would be able to do the fill in his office without a fluoroscope. He inserted a thin needle, it hardly hurt at all- much less than a shot in the arm for a vaccine or taking blood. For about 20-30 seconds he was tryng to find the entry and I could feel the pressure of the needle pushing agains the side and then top of the port. No pain, just pressure. Then he found it, and was complete with the procedure in another 40-60 seconds. I only had to drink up a dixie cup of Water, and I was on my way.

I guess because I was a lower BMI he was pretty sure it would go this way. He made no promises, and said if he couldn't get it, we would have to go the other route, with the fluoroscope, swallow, etc. I am happy it all worked out so well, and I am not dreading my next fill in 4 weeks.

I have clears for 2, mushies for 2, then back to small bites and chew chew chew. I sure hope I can get back the restriction I had for the 3 weeks following the surgery. So far...so good.

I have some tenderness in my belly from the fill, but no other problems.

Everyone has been so terrific on this sight for me... I hope this helps others gathering info.

I have some tenderness in my belly from the fill, but no other problems.

I had some tenderness too, it last a few days then went away. I think because he kept pushing on my port and then had to hold it in place while he gave me the fill (the port kept slipping when he was trying to insert the needle into it).

I have great restriction, but not so much that I have come close to getting food stuck. We went out to eat Friday night and I got a salad from the salad bar (dressing on the side) and usually I eat about 2 bowls of the salad. I wasn't able to eat even one, then the manager gave me a to go box. I have made 4 meals out of one salad. I used to eat the entire thing, plus another bowl. Wow, I was a pig! LOL.

:) I am 4 days post 1st fill. I had my first regular meal today. 2 pieces of fish, corn on the cob and a few hushpuppies. It took me from 12pm until 8pm to eat it all. So a lunch became dinner too!!!!:clap2: I am down 2 pounds since the fill also:clap2: . I did lots of yard work today and felt great!!! I also am up to 2 workouts with a trainer a week--20 min treadmill and 30 min on weigh machines. I LOVE IT. I do treadmill 2-3 times a week also.

Thanks for being here and reading!

Hope everyone else is doing good.

Pennst8ter....THAT's IMPRESSIVE!!!!! Give me some details!! I was banded on Jan. 18, 07 and have lost a little over 30 pounds. Have had my first fill and haven't lost any weight since the fill! It's depressing and makes me want to "see what I can get by with". Do you have any secrets as far as your diet goes? I try to stay around 1000 - 1200 calories on Monday thru Friday.....come Saturday and SUnday I eat within reason but whatever I want, meaning I don't count or measure, just eat and try not to feel too guilty! Congrats again and if you have any secrets, I'm all ears!

Just checkin in.

I am doing good. I have not been eating much and my quantities are small. My band is tighter but I think it is stress making it tighter. My step daughter is getting married in a week and she is so stressed she has been taking it out on me.

I did lose 1 pound on my Friday weigh in!!!!

I am also premenstrual.

Today I had coffee for Breakfast

lunch was carne asada with Beans, cheese and salsa

dinner was some trail mix with dried friut and some nuts

I only got like 45 ounces of Water in today.

How are you all doing/

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
