hi everyone' date=' Finally made it into surgery at 7 pm. All went well. Tough night gas pains, but night doctor was great. Still getting occasional sharp pains, but it is less frequent. Pain and nausea control meds in my IV. On the road to recovery! Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers.[/quote']

So happy to hear you are doing ok. Please rest and keep us posted on your experience when you're up to it.

I'm settled in at the Marriott. Got here about 2pm...had a nice nap and a wonderful shower. Got together with 3 other sleevers for broth and popsicles in the dining room. Feeling tired but otherwise it is hard to believe that my surgery was only 50 hours ago! As of right now, I'm not taking any pain meds and am feeling fine. Still getting some gas rumblings but they are minor.

Amazing...no hunger or interest in food at all. Care at hospital was very good...will give more details later. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I am sleeved and doing great!

It's a beautiful day in Tijuana! I am feeling really good. Dr. Luna came to my hotel room around noon to remove the staples and put on steristrips.. The strips just stay there (no dressings on the incisions) until they fall off in about 5 days. The drain opening is different.must keep it covered and no Water on it while showering...then a little bit of wound care, but not much. BTW' I have 3 incisions and the drain opening.

I have been using a tablet computer for email...wireless is free at hospital and hotel.. I have used my cell phone for calls only...got the Verizon Mexico add-on for $15 month, but I'll only have it for a week so cost will be prorated.

A few of the women who were sleeved on Thursday went to Wal-Mart this afternoon...I walked around outside the hotel but took a pass on shopping.

Sleevers here will be dining at 7 in the dining room...broth and popsicles for everyone!

I'll be traveling all day tomorrow' so won't be posting for awhile.

Thanks for all your support! I honestly believe that you folks at the VST Mexico forum gave me the confidence to come to TJ and have surgery with Dr. Garcia. Thank you! It was a great decision!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
