Recommended Posts

Thanks a lot for everyone that tried to help me sorry for not replying a lot sooner and that's because the time difference I am from the Middle East I've done my surgery in the Middle East 16 months ago it was a reversion from gastric band to VSG my doctor have seen me twice after my surgery he said" my job is to do your surgery and your job is to loose the weight" we here do not have any nutritionist that deal with WLS surgery I have no information on how to eat or what to do my doctor told me I can eat what ever I want he asked only not to eat and drink at the same time I'm 5 feet tall my starting weight was 193 I lost 23 pounds I'm a single mom and I work a full time job if anyone needs any more information about me please let me know

I'm not sure on the foods you guys eat there but I think I read that bread is always used or mostly. Stay away from those evil carbs. You can also up the calories to jump start your system. But mainly stay away from carbs and fatty sugar foods and that should work.

The number one rule is no bread or rice because it expands and fills your tummy up. Just eat lots of Proteins like meat or spinach!

As a generality, the sleeve gastrectomy diet plans are high in Protein while low in calories, fats and carbohydrates. • The average calorie allowance for the sleeve gastrectomy ranges from 800 to 1200 calories per day. Foods that will need to be decreased in your diet include high sugar foods, high carbohydrate foods (including bread and pasta), fats (such as butter), fatty meats, fried foods, whole milk products, ice cream, high calorie beverages (including regular soda and alcoholic beverages).

Ok you want to eat around;

60 grams of Protein a day

50 or lower carbs

Keep your fats low

And drink at least 64 oz of Water a day...

That's why you need to write everything down

You can download an app. To help you record your foods

I don't know if my stomic is small enough I feel that I eat a lot ( for example I can eat a 6 inch turkey breast sub from subway) is that amount normal or my stomic is too big?

Including the bread? That's an awful lot.

Well your further out so it might be easier.. But just because you can doesn't mean you should...

Protein and veggies are the two things you should be eating...

Ya including the bread

After surgery I craved a tuna fish sub from subway. I would be lucky if I could eat 4 bites of one. bread isn't a good thing post op though.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
