I'm on April first, so my countdown is really ticking and I'm starting to get really anxious. Part of me is happy and part is like, what am I doing? I'm going to cut part of my stomach? I'm going alone to a foreign country to purposely hurt myself (well, temporarily). I know it's for the best but I am still anxious.

Hoorrrrraaaayyyy! Hi April Sleevers. I'm April 16, in MX. 5'2, 205 lbs. I just want to get it over with, I have tried MANY other things and I am just miserable. I want to be healthy and right now, I'm not. Just bloated and disgusted. Funny thing is people are like your not that big. Really? Cause my BMI is 37.5, I have high blood pressure and sleep apnea. So thanks but I want to take control now before it gets any worse. According to the Dr.'s, I am Obese - Class 2

I here you Cherrytree! I am 5'3' and 215, and sometimes I ask myself if I am big enough to have this surgery. Then I remind myself how different life will when I'm 80-100 pounds lighter. I haven't told anyone except my husband and kids. I feel like I should tell my family (parents, siblings, in-laws) because they're pretty supportive and we have a good relationship, but I'm worried that they will tell me not to have it done. So, I'm waiting until I have an actual surgery date booked to spring it on them.

I am new to the forum. My surgery date is 4/1. I started my liquid diet today. Found out Friday that there is an insurance problem. My husband is working on it but the hospital wants me to pay 24,000 by today.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
