Are Flintstones complete really good enough? Critic my vitamin list please

Recommended Posts

I am a couple days shy of 4 weeks post op. I am currently taking Celebrate Multivitamin capsules but sometimes they make me feel ill. Its hit or miss, has nothing to do if I take them on a full stomach or not. Sometimes they are fine and sometimes they make me feel like I am going to puke them up.

So for the last couple days I have been taking 2 Flintstones complete Multivitamins. They are chewable, go down fine and stay down with no ill effects. I would love to continue taking these as my daily Multivitamins but I have read so many mixed reviews on them. Can anyone verify if these are ok for someone with a VSG. I doubt they are good enough for DS or RNY patients but what about people like us without malabsorption issues.

Can you guys check out my daily list of Vitamins I am taking to let me know if I am missing out on anything. Again, I have read so many mixed comments in regards to what I should be taking that it would be nice if I can get some feedback on the exact Vitamins I am taking daily. I do not take an Iron supplement because I was told men do not have to... is this correct?

I take...

2 Flintstones complete chewables

1 Celebrate B12

2 packets of Upcal D 500mg each of Calcium. I mix my Protein shakes with almond milk. I get an additional 450mg Calcium per shake, drink 2 shakes per day. Total calcium 1900mg daily.

That is all I can take per my nut is Flinestones. But I take a lot more supplements than that!

The Flintstones are more than sufficient since children need more Vitamins than adults in many cases. Look at the bottle, most levels are over 100% of the daily requirement for Adults. I just had labs done for my 1 year post op visit. Everything was great with the exception of Vitamin D. I am at toxic levels in that because of the levels found in both my Calcium and the Flintstones I'm looking for a lower dosage in the calcium supplements as soon as my current supply runs out. The calcium citrate gummies the best.

I take two Vitafusion multi gummies and 1 Flintstone multi with Iron per day. I just had my 3 month labs done and they were perfect. You may want to also try the Vitafusion multi gummies. They are very tolerable. You can get a big bottle at Sams for good price.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
