I am going to do revision if all goes as planned from band to sleeve however I'd like to lose approx 19lbs. Is that even possible with the sleeve? When I go in on the 21st again I will talk with my Dr. She did my band and seems to think sleeve would be a good option. I do not want rny but is that the only way to lose that much?! :/

Prior to your surgery u will loose a few lbs. I'm pretty sure u know the drill being u had the lap band . However I have not done the sleeve yet my day is 2/20(yay) and I know someone who was in ur same position who the band was unsuccessful and they did the sleeve she is 140 now in one year and a half and was pre op was 296! I think that this all depends on how much effort u put in to post op. if u do everything right u will have great results. Alot of questions you have about the surgery u can just scroll and see in this form. Believe me as much as I was told by doctors after doctor there is nothing better then hearing from people who have already an are preparing for this drastic change. Look thru all the sections that there are so many questions you can get answers by just reading here! Hope ur journey starts off great :)

I hope it's possible, otherwise I'm screwed :P My goal puts me losing about 200 pounds when all is said and done. I'm about halfway there right now, and I was losing about 4 pounds a week. I was deathly sick for a couple weeks this month, though, so this month's weight loss is wonky as all get out.

When comparing the long term results between a sleeve and RNY, the results are very similar. RNY has a slightly higher overall weight loss, but honestly, all the increased complications and icky side effects, not to mention a life without chocolate... it just wasn't for me.

So you've lost about 100?! In how long? Can I ask you starting stats? And now?

So you've lost about 100?! In how long? Can I ask you starting stats? And now?

I've lost that amount since late October. I was sleeved on 10/22. I'm 5'10" and my start weight was 383. Right now I'm about 286 and I've been losing and gaining the same 2 pounds this week, which I try to take in stride. My stomach's still a little sensitive from being sick, so my diet's been a bit more carb heavy than usual.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
