Life after yoyo diets...Permanent Lifestyle and loving it

Recommended Posts

I am loving 162. Never in my life have I loved 162. I have been at this weight more then ten times in my life, either from gaining or losing. And never have I appreciated this number. I of course want to be 110, but I feel it coming and I am ready to love myself. Never do I want to be over 200lbs, at 4'10 I was a walking heart attack. I love waking up and feeling smaller, I love looking in the mirror, I love going to the gym, I love myself. I thank God everyday that I had this surgery. I would do it again in a heartbeat. And, I love the lifestyle change. Eating clean, every three hours, 70-100oz of Water, Protein first, feeling full, not being obsessed with food, excersise and the high I get from running....just thought I would share. Thanks to everyone on here that is and continues to be positive forces in my journey.

That is so exciting. I am and have been slowly making my new habits at 9.5 weeks out, I'm down 40 lbs and I can't wait to come to that love myself point. I am not sure if I will ever get to that point but this gives me hope! I am in a much better place with food now than I ever was before surgery so maybe over time...

Thanks for sharing your positive story.

Glad I inspired a few :-) I just kinda realized that beating myself up only made me feel worse. Appreciating and loving myself is the only way down on the scale. Not to mention my therapist has a big role in my mental status, I have been with her for a year and she is awesome

I feel the same way. I was miserable with all the unsuccessful attempts to lose weight. I finally feel like I have control over my life again. Best decision I made!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
