It's not my time of month, let me just get that out before you ask. I was losing a pound a day for 3 days. Then this morning I had gained them all back. WTH!?!

we need more info! how far out are you? If you are in your first year its probably not fat gain, its probably a fluctuation in fluids or rearrangement of weight. No worries! they will come back off

You will probably lose them in the next day or 2 again plus more! Thats what I have seen.

How often do you weigh yourself? You can and will fluctate quite a bit on a daily basis, so you may want to consider weekly or even monthly at most. All the up and down can be really irritating for people that like an orderly approach to life.

Don't weight yourself everyday, it does fluctuate but you will drop them. Weighing yourself everyday will just make those fluctuations more frustrating and discouraging when it WILL come off.

Don't measure withthe scales so much - I relied on a series of tshirts, I would get a tight one, wear till loose, on to the next tshirt!

I agree with everyone else, I think that if you are not doing anything different it is just fluctation which will settle in a day or two. I know how hard it is not to weigh yourself, though, I keep telling myself not to and being drawn to the damn thing like a magnet every morning. I am going away for a month in March and looking forward to not having the chance to weigh myself at all.

Don't weigh yourself every day. There is so much that you can blame on a pound or two when you weigh. I have found that the number on that scale use to define my day but not any more. I weigh myself no more than one a week. Usually every two weeks. Just had too many bad days when I weighed every day.

I am not one to ever tell people to put their scale away, because I think that obesity should be monitored like any other health condition HOWEVER, this is why I advocate for weighing in ONCE weekly, on some kind of regular schedule like right when you wake up after you use the restroom stark naked.

I relate to this, I am a little over two weeks out but I am a person who experiences a lot of Fluid retention based on sodium levels. For most people they have to eat QUITE a bit of salt to notice that effect but for me it's just more extreme due to genetics or something, I don't really know. You may also be more sensitive to this than you realize. This morning I stepped on the scale, and like you, saw a two pound gain and my heart sank but I know that its Fluid and I need to practice what I preach.

Thanks for all the support! I know that I need to stay away from the scale but especially when I've gained weight, I'll weigh myself every day waiting for those pounds to go away. I will the my hardest to not weigh myself and to let go. I think my main issue is that I still believe that the sleeve won't work for me like everything else and that I'm going to fail, so me weighing myself everyday is my way of "keeping tabs" on myself. I am going out of town for a few days next week, so that will give me a break as well.

Thanks for all the replys, this site has given me so many answers and support throughout my journey!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
