December Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Offerrocker - did I tell you we have the same band date? Maybe the other site? Anyway - how's it going?

I cheated on my pre-op pretty bad last night and now today I'm struggling to eat right. But it was a party at my house so I felt I should eat too - right.

I saw my anethesistist (LOL - you all get that right?) anyway he didnt' really have anything to say - I was there about 2 minutes - he just asked if I had any questions and if I'd had surgery before, told me I may have a sore throat and that was about it. I kinda felt it was a waste of gas, couldn't he have just called me?

Hello - I had my surgery on Wednesday and I am back home today. How is everyone that had it this week doing. I am a little sore, but feeling pretty good. I am anxious to start my full liquid diet tomorrow, and have somthing that actually tastes good.

It is really funny how different doctors give different diets for the first 4 weeks.

(((Patty!!!))))

Glad you are home and feeling okay. I love when people say they are home and a little sore. I can handle sore...I am deathly afraid of gut wrenching pain! I am so glad you are doing okay. Enjoy those full liquids tomorrow! Take care and keep us posted.

I was wondering if you could send me a copy of those three lists you have for the stages of food?

How did you do today? I can't wait to start my preoop diet on Sunday. My financing is supposed to be coming in and it is really cutting it close. I should be funding Friday and my surgery is Monday!!!! I pray to God I don't have to reschedule. If I don't get the money buy Friday, there is no way I can get it to him on a Sunday when I am supposed to be checking in to the hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi y'all...my surgery date is December 13th. Doing a pre-diet currently...V-8, Protien drinks, broth, yogurt, and sugar free jello/puding.

Chattanooga, Tennessee @ Memorial Hospital with Dr. Land. Very nervous. Weight at start of pre-diet 240, 3 days in 235 (5' 5 1/2 " tall).

Its so exciting to hear our December bandster getting done and home mending! I hope you are all doing well.

I don't know whats going on in my head but I tend to do this when I get real nervous - I hibernate. Seriously, I am so excited and I only have the weekend left - 3 days! - but I just can't seem to get out and get things done! I had planned to go finish my Christmas shopping today and I am just DREADING it. I feel like nesting, just cleaning house, making Soup, washing clothes... that kind of stuff. Did any of you feel like this? Do you think I'll feel up to shopping a few days after the surgery, having it Monday - shopping Friday? I'd love to get your opinion.

Patty, glad to see your home and doing well.

Hi everyone, well I finally got my date, I'm scheduled for Dec 21st. It all happened so fast, I only met with the doctor on the 4th but she had a cancellation and she slid me right into that spot. I have to say I'm excited but VERY nervous....

I just want everything to go o.k. so I can be back home celebrating Christmas with my 2 kids. Does anyone else have a case of the gitters or is that overtaken by excitement?

I am also waiting for my insurance company approval. I have completed all the prep appointments. Hoping for a December date, but might not be til January. One minute I can't wait and then I get scared. I keep thinking about what happens if I fail at this, like I have failed at all previous diets. Thanks everyone for the encouragement I get from reading the posts here.

Levi - your not the only one, I have a case of the jitters too. but i am still excited... but nervous ( i think it is pretty normal).

Steph - I dont want to go do anything either. My mind is so focused on this stupid pre-diet, and the finances... I would just like to sleep away the next two weeks too. :-)

I just started my preop-diet today. Wow, there's that mental hunger! This is really effective for making you take a look at how you ate BEFORE -vs- what your donig now... and how you can make that a happy medium later.

I do however feel like I am REALLY focused on the food right now. I don't think that is ever a good thing (to be fixated).... or maybe it is right now.

I'm confused! :) ha

Just wanted to make sure all of my December girls knew about this web-site. Excellent prices, and selection for many Protein products! Plus she sends free "gifts" (samples with each purchase).

The Before and After Pics there are also very inspirational. I'm looking at them right now thinking, " I can't wait!"

(sigh)

Babygotback...I sent you my list through PM. I have no idea if they are good or not, I'm sure we will get more ideas when we are there.

Many of you are home and mending, you lucky little devils. I am still counting the days...10 left. I can't wait to join you on the other side of banding.

StephC, you must be so excited. I think nesting sounds like you are listening to your body. That is very good news. I am supposed to go out with the girls on Saturday, they want to take me out to Japanese Village and partying all night for one last bender. It doesn't appeal to me at all. I am going to just tell them today that I don't want to go. I have worked to hard getting these 9 pounds off to blow it that way. I don't want to put myself in that position either, it is not the kind of place where you can just order salad. I would rather go grocery shopping for post op food, so I guess I am nesting too. Good luck.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
