surgery date feb 18

Recommended Posts

I just became a member to this group. I got my surgery date today, Feb 18 and have bounced back and forth from euphoric to terrified. I have tried so many things to lose weight, but this is the most radical. I really believe that this is my best chance to change my life and be healthy, but there have been a few moments today that I thought Oh my God, can I really do this? I start my pre surgery low calorie diet tomorrow and am trying to get myself in the right mind set for this. Does everyone swing back and forth like this? One minute I'm so ready and the next I am so apprehensive.

I am also going in on Feb18th so if you need support we can do this together! It is a huge step, but I'm 27 and 250lbs....and it's just tone to be done being fat once and for All. I have 4 family members that went through this and it was the best decision they made. Everyone is afraid it "won't work for them" but just be sensible and let the sleeve do the rest. If you have any questions let me know. I've been on this forum for 6 months. You can fb me too by searching for Sarah stark. Good luck! Oh and don't sweat the prep diet, I was a food addict, mainly carbs. Once you get past the 3 day hump it's waaaay easier.

Thanks, I think it will be easier with the support of those going thru the same thing. My family is supportive but they don't know really because none of them has done this.

February 18th here too!!!!! Just started my pre-op diet. I really enjoy the support of the people I have been in contact with from this group. And there are so many people on the 18th & 19th! Where is everyone having their surgery? I was denied by my insurance so I am going to Tijuana.< /p>

day 2 of the low calorie diet. I felt pretty good about it until this evening. Right now I want to snack on something, anything. I'm not going to give in to the urge to eat, but I wish I could have just a small snack.

From Texas. Fourth day of pre op diet. Yesterday was my birthday and my daughter (who I haven't told yet) gave me chocolate cherries. I smiled big and said thank you, but that box is sitting there and I'm trying not to look at it

my surgery time is 10. I will have to be there by 8. Not as bad as 5:30, but I work really weird hours and for me 8 o'clock is really early. I keep reading all the encouraging words here and keep hoping it all turns out good. I have moments when I'm not sure about this, but I feel like the ship has sailed on the idea of backing out. Just have to remember what the goal is here and not be distracted

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
