The closer I get to my sleeve date the larger I feel...

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I am scheduled for my sleeve on March 5 and the past couple of weeks I have begun to feel larger then life. I was wondering if anyone else had those feelings before surgery? Suddenly all my clothes feel so small and I am begining to notice every lump and bump.

I think the anxiety of having a date scheduled but approval not received has me stressed out. Has anyone had either of these feelings?

I completely understand! It sucks! I've always been a big girl and have been fine with it! I always felt I carried my weight well and i felt beautiful anyway. I didn't care what anyone thought but I just knew being overweight is unhealthy and want to live past 40 so I decided to have surgery. A month before, I felt huge and i was even losing weight. I didn't want to go out of the house anymore. I felt so uncomfortable and felt like everyone was staring at me when i would. Now that I'm sleeved and seeing results I couldn't be happier. And I feel pretty and sexy again! I think it's just that when you make up your mind to have surgery you are just ready and really see what you have become to get to that point. I know it stinks but after surgery you will feel better!

Omg, exactly how I feel. My surgery is Feb 25th but the past couple weeks I just feel disgusting. I've always been very into fashion, hair and makeup and I've always been determined to dress fasionably despite my size but lately i don't even want to get ready, I just feel so gross. I feel like nothing fits and nothing looks good. I feel like my face looks fat. I don't want to see anyone I know until after surgery but I still weigh the same I did when I first decided to get the surgery which was in November. I think it is my subcontious mind preparing me so I won't back out. I hope you start to feel better love! Your date is close too :)

I am having the same issue. All my clothes feel wrong. I actually cut a neck of a t shirt this weekend because it felt so restricting. March 5th cant get here quick enough. It really had become an obsession trying to get ready for this.

The crazy thing is I was only sleeved 1/15/13 but it works that fast! I see a huge change already! My heaviest was 427 and my pcp is awesome! He was very respectful when he mentioned surgery, he knew how hard I worked with no results. I felt horrid after seeing how much I weighed after so many years! Im so glad I did it!

Wow so good to hear I'm not the only one feeling this way. Nothing fits and all I want to do is eat but never full, not gaining weight but miserable. My surgery can't come soon enough! Good luck all

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
