Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

My enthusiasm has fizzled a bit... :-(

So as many of you guys have experienced, my surgeon's staff has been so frustrating to work with. They have slowly sucked some of the joy out of the process by being combative and elusive. Don't get me wrong, I ' m still happy about my sleeve and new way of life and got my sleeve date today etc. (2/13l but the sheer fact they have screwed me over so much makes me feel I will not have the support I need from them post op. Thank.God I have a supportive family.

Anyone else feel this at all? Just need a little pumping up right now.

Don't let them steal your joy! I am in the beginning stages of having a lap band revision to the sleeve. So much paper work and jumping through hoops for my insurance company. This is a great forum for support... hang in there!

Join the club!! I know I should be happy also' date=' but the undo stress they are causing is not making it so easy.[/quote']

It seems to be everywhere in this field! My thing is if they would be more transparent up front most of us would know what to expect thus reducing or alleviating the stress and anxiety!

Agree! Mine was like a fat factory. Pumping people in and out as fast as possible.

LMAO :D So true so true. It's so funny to share in this experience, even if it does get weird at times. The fat factory!! Now that's classic!

I hate to hear that the start has been tough. Look for another office that offers a support group. I'm really glad my doctor here in Houston has a wonderful staff and support system. This is a major life changing decision and having all the support, especially from the one we are putting our trust and life in their hands, should give us good support. Hope it gets better.

Yes, was sleeved on Jan 30th. Could of done 6 months ago but doctors office was not helpful with my questions. Regardless, DO IT! Not only have I lost 25 lbs since Jan. 26, but I am no longer addicted to soft drinks'

Misslady, I wish this was the beginning of the process but my surgery is next week. The early part of my experience was fantastic. We will label that the 'hooking' phase...when everyone acting right because they want your money! Lol

I was extremely proactive, but it seemed as if when it was time for them to really grab the reins things really slowed down...to a crawl!

Oh well, I may reach out to another surgeon for after care.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
