GAINED 6 lbs in 2 days ! ?

Recommended Posts

I am confused... I hope I am not doing something wrong. I go to the dr tomorrow and I will show him myfitnesspal app with the journal of my days. I am getting 54 ish Proteins in a day. I am getting 50 oz of fluids in. My calories stay around 300 to 400. I am on puree foods at 18 day post op. I am getting all my Vitamins in.

After gaining 3 lbs on Saturday, I walk a slow pace for 30min on Sunday. And drank more fluids. I wake up Sunday and gained 3 more pounds.

Is this normal??? I have heard you can go up or down a pound or two but a 6 pound gain scares me at only 18 day PO. Please give me advise.

Thanks

Amanda

It's normal. As long as you are losing on a monthly basis, you are doing fine. I would stop weighing yourself so much. Thiese fluctuations are very normal.

I have been told to only way a few times a month. I think it is time to dump the scale. I will weigh only at the dr. I just didn't know that much of a gain is normal. If it is than the scale is gone. It is too much stress thinking the sleeve wasn't working or I was doing something wrong.

Thank you

Bye bye scale

You can gain and lose up to about 5 pounds in one day. Defiantly ditch the scale. Go by your clothes. That's how I did it. I weighed only once a month after I figured this out. On the clothes I know that when I started I was a size 24-26 and now I am in a 10! Don't need a scale to tell me that I lost a person! Lol

Sassygirl. That is fabulous!! How long did it take you to get to a size 10. I am still having a problem putting on my pants I was wearing pre op, (all too tight then) It make my tummy sore to put the slightest pressure. So I was going by that dang scale. I will wait another week and try some pre op clothes. I know the wait will all be worth it. Thank you for the advise.

Sorry so long to respond. I had my surgery in August 2011. I was a size ten by January 2012. I kind of stopped paying attention to what I was eating, and how many calories I was eating, so I stopped losing weight for a long time. But I have been back on track, and I have actually lost 18 pounds since January 1 st. I haven't gone down in pants size yet, but shirt size is smaller now. I still have weight to lose in my belly. I won't stop till I get there! Just don't give up. I bet since the last post you made those pants are loose now! Lol

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
