... I'd really appreciate a few being sent in this direction :success1:

Going back in tomorrow for revision surgery, due to band slippage. Its weird - before I had the surgery last time, I felt I knew everything there was to know about the band. I'd spent SO much time researching it. This time, I'm feeling a bit less prepared. While I know what a pb feels like and stuff like that, I don't remember the simple things like, how long I'll need to stay on liquids/mushies/etc. I guess that's info they'll give me at the hospital tomorrow though.

I've managed to pack on a few more kilos in the past few weeks, which I'm seriously looking forward to getting back off. My clothes have started to get quite tight and I absolutely refuse to buy more LOL.

I'm going to try to take my pc with me (cause I'll get bored sitting in the hospital), so will post when I can.

I will definitely say a prayer for you in the morning and be sending good thoughts your way the rest of the day! Hope the recovery is speedy and uneventful for you.

Ooh, very best of luck. At least you know with the liquids to mushies regime, lots of that extra weight will disappear very fast. Hope you recover quickly, as you probably will, being in such better shape now.

My prayers are with you and hope for you a speedy recovery and pain free one. I also agree, with the liquid phase and then mushies and how you just don't have an appettite after surgery you'll get that extra off right off the bat. My thoughts and prayers are with you. hugs

Oops, I should have posted to this thread rather than make a seperate one :/ lol

I'm home now and all is well in the world, apart from some major shoulder tip pain (expected) and a small puncture in the stomach, an accident from removing the band. I'm on antibiotics for the next month, but that's okay. I hate swallowing pills but if they'll keep me well, that's all that matters :)

I met one really nice lady there who had just been banded and was being discharged. She asked what I was in for and when I told her the lapband, she said something to the effect of, "You're not big enough to need that!". I explained that it was a revision and whatnot, but it sure did make my day - and I don't think it was the morphine! LOL

Glad you're home... these little bumps & bruises don't make our Band Journeys any less worthwhile.

I love that woman's comment. The other day when I took my pal to her first LapBand surgery post-op appt, the office nurse said (unprompted) "Oh, you don't need this surgery."

So I guess that's kind of a compliment, right?

Rest up, recover and continue along your journey. Congrats on being back home.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
