5th day liquid preop

Recommended Posts

I have no energy. I am finding it hard to have the will not to cheat. Especially with two kids and two other adults where food is being brought in and out. I am usually great all day but once late afternoon and night falls I find it more difficult to not eat a piece of deli meat. Hasn't been an everyday thing but it is like I am dizzy and the shakes don't agree with my tummy. Plus the fact liquid in liquid out sucks. Need some encouraging advice and some coping skills. I can do this I know it just hate that the support in my home blows. My kids dad will bring fast food or chips and dip complete junk food in the house. I can do this!

I hope your still hanging in there...I'm pre-op hoping for a surgery date in March. I've been experimenting with pre-op diets to get a feel of it this past week and I did pretty good (lost 9lbs). My Dr wants me to lose 26lbs n I'm down 13lbs do far but it has not been easy. You're so close stay focus or read a book it helps ease the mind. How long is your liquid diet? Good luck... mind over matter.

When I was on my preop I did have to cheat a few times to make it through. If you don't have enough energy are you sure your getting enough Protein, if the problem continues you might want to call your surgeon or NUT and ask them for advice.

Hi guys. It is all mental. Spread it out all day! Every few hours. You will think it is horrible and will wonder if u can pull off post op diet. You can and will! Pouch will be smaller. I still get Hungary but because eating slower and tasting food I am satisfied earlier. Ocharleys with Soup yesterday as hubby had salad steak and potatoes! Felt a longing for my fried chicken salad but 1/2 into my chicken Soup all was forgotten. Just liked feeling normal going for meal!

Good luck. You will all do great!

I am also on the 6th day of the pre op diet. Just Protein Shakes and broth for two weeks. I found the first four days hard. Had a lot of head aches but it does get better. I never thought I could do six days. My family has been really good at eating things in the other room. So far I have lost 6 pounds. I do struggle at times thinking why am I doing this and damn I have made it six days more than I thought I would. So one day at a time and one hour at a time, off need be. It is nice to know that someone understands and is going through the same things that I am. Hang in there!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
