5th day liquid preop

I have no energy. I am finding it hard to have the will not to cheat. Especially with two kids and two other adults where food is being brought in and out. I am usually great all day but once late afternoon and night falls I find it more difficult to not eat a piece of deli meat. Hasn't been an everyday thing but it is like I am dizzy and the shakes don't agree with my tummy. Plus the fact liquid in liquid out sucks. Need some encouraging advice and some coping skills. I can do this I know it just hate that the support in my home blows. My kids dad will bring fast food or chips and dip complete junk food in the house. I can do this!

I hope your still hanging in there...I'm pre-op hoping for a surgery date in March. I've been experimenting with pre-op diets to get a feel of it this past week and I did pretty good (lost 9lbs). My Dr wants me to lose 26lbs n I'm down 13lbs do far but it has not been easy. You're so close stay focus or read a book it helps ease the mind. How long is your liquid diet? Good luck... mind over matter.

When I was on my preop I did have to cheat a few times to make it through. If you don't have enough energy are you sure your getting enough protein, if the problem continues you might want to call your surgeon or NUT and ask them for advice.

My preop is liquid and one small meal of low fat and low carb, so if you do cheat I bet it won't be terrible! Don't sweat it too much! Stress keeps fat on the ole body!

I start my pre op diet on Wed...I only get liquids. :( 5 shakes a day with all the water you want(yipee), a few s/f popsicles and up to 5 oz of broth a day for 2 WEEKS ...

Tstorm....that sounds tough but some are doing it for 30 days! Yikes!!

Oh I dont think I would be able to do it that long!! So I am grateful its 2 weeks lol

Hi guys. It is all mental. Spread it out all day! Every few hours. You will think it is horrible and will wonder if u can pull off post op diet. You can and will! Pouch will be smaller. I still get Hungary but because eating slower and tasting food I am satisfied earlier. Ocharleys with Soup yesterday as hubby had salad steak and potatoes! Felt a longing for my fried chicken salad but 1/2 into my chicken soup all was forgotten. Just liked feeling normal going for meal!

Good luck. You will all do great!

I am also on the 6th day of the pre op diet. Just protein shakes and broth for two weeks. I found the first four days hard. Had a lot of head aches but it does get better. I never thought I could do six days. My family has been really good at eating things in the other room. So far I have lost 6 pounds. I do struggle at times thinking why am I doing this and damn I have made it six days more than I thought I would. So one day at a time and one hour at a time, off need be. It is nice to know that someone understands and is going through the same things that I am. Hang in there!

I'm on my 5th day too and you don't know how much I want to order a pepperoni lovers pizza right now.
