Ugh, I had a stressful day at work, and came home and ate pizza for supper, and now feel like crap. I've had a constant headache/hunger/slight dizziness on this pre-op diet, and now I just sabotaged myself. Well, right back at it in the morning.

Okay. Today is day two post op. Had much better sleep last night. Great pain pills and back in my own bed. I can already tell that today will be better. I think I've been a little more sore than most since I had my gall bladder removed and a hiatel hernia repair. But I'm chugging along. Sipped Water and had Italian ice and a popsicle yesterday. Going to get some Protein in today. I know I'm not drinking enough but as long as I continue to urinate every few hours I think I'm okay. No regrets! Getting better every day!

Hey its me who was doing so well! Lol I'm day 3 (sleeved 14th) and I came home yesterday after 30 hours in the hospital. Seemed I was doing so much better while I was attached to IV morphine. I'm now on straight oxycodone liquid with additional childrens tylenol so I could get the maximum amout of pain control. I slept about every 3 hours last night and woke up today and attempting puree diet. I'm feeling much better today than yesterday. Stomach is still very sore where they gave me another belly button looking incision. And I feel gassy but walking laps in my house. How is everyone else?

We are so much alike! I did the same thing on my preop diet (it was day 5). pizza is my downfall!! But after that I was fine and you will be too!! Don't beat yourself up over it. This little goof up will actually make you want to stay on your pre op diet. The day before my surgery was Super Bowl Sunday and my doc even let me splurge on a Miller 64 beer that day. But no food! Hang in there my friend!

You too huh? Stupid pizza!! Lol. I'm definitely paying for it today. Had bad heartburn throughout the night, then woke up incredibly thirsty and with gas cramps. Back on track, with a Protein Shake for Breakfast. :)

Also, might I add that your Dr is now the coolest doc ever for letting you have beer the day before surgery lol!

Well still in the hospital... Surgery was on 2/13 not nauseous anymore(knock on wood) but they made me stay last night because after trying the Protein Shake (4 sips) I threw it up! So they took me off of liquids all together again! They have me trying the Clear Liquids again today but they are still not sure if ill go home or not! Believe me I want to go home but I'm so afraid of throwing up and being dehydrated!! Anyone have this issue??

I did the same thing last night. For me it was a cheeseburger and fries. Back at it today though. Muscle milk choc Protein Shake blended with a little coffee and ice is actually pretty good. Normally I can't stand coffee or the Protein Shakes on their own but together they're not bad. Who knew?

Awesome!!! I am two days post surgery and it has been my most painful. Kinda like working out' date=' day two gets ya!! Hope you continue to feel great!![/quote']

Well I had my surgery on Thursday 14th they also had to repair a hernia. I wasn't as scared as I thought I would be. But when I woke up I was in extreme pain, and I don't handle pain well. So they got me hooked up to a moriphine pain pump and it was good for a while but I needed something more so the gave me a shot of dylotin now that really helped it made me want to sleep. But there is no getting sleep in the hospital they are always coming in to check on something. The next day they did the upper GI test and I had no leaks so I could finally start having liquids. I got to come home on Friday. Still having a hard time with pain but keeping up on the pain meds. Today I got up and have walked around my street several times. And I have been trying to get my Protein in with the Isopure but it taste horrible!! And I took my chewable multi Vitamin which was also gross and my sublingual B12 wasn't bad. And the doctor prescribed pepsid and a med for nausea so I have taken both of those today plus I have to get in my meds I was already taking before surgery! DANG there is just so much to take in and it takes so long to get it in! I was kind of bummed when I weighed my self when I got home I had not lost any weight but gained a few pounds! And there has been times where I wish I had not done this but it's just because of the pain I can't stand to be in pain!

I think its normal to gain right away. I lost 9# right after surgery. And then I camea home and weight 15# more! Today I was down #5 so I think while your still swollen and retaining stuff is not a good time to weight yourself. I will do it on Thursdays. So stay off the scale for a while (;

@bsjuskidn Which Isopure flavors have you tried? There are several that I think, I kid you not, taste like parmesan cheese and are perfectly revolting. The two that I find most tolerable at the Apple Melon and Alpine Punch. I don't love them, but of all the clear liquid Proteins I've tried, I find them the most tolerable. I hear a lot of people say they dilute them with ice Water. I haven't tried this, but I may next time, because the flavor is just so strong some days.

Tuesday is approaching quickly and I am both excited and nervous at the same time. You would think this would be nothing considering this will be my fourth major surgery in 6 years. The three days in the hospital should be a snap considering I spent the entire month of October in the hospital after extensive spinal and neurosurgery. However, I am still a little apprehensive about going into the hospital for surgery again.

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
