Yeah for some reason I'm getting my dilaudid through shots in the arm. I would SO rather have a pump to control myself. I have to call the nurse in every 2 hours or so for my next dose so sleep is pretty much nonexistent lol. I fall asleep for an hour and then wake up realizing my tummy is about hurt. Atleast it's working though. I'm sad bc they just took away my ice chips until I do the upper gi leak test tomorrow. Do you have those mouthwash foam lollipop thingys too?

Yes I have those foamy things. They suck so bad and all they would give me was a medicine cup half full of ice chunks once an hour! I am getting nauseous so they won't even let me have that now!

But the pump every 10 mins is hard to sleep too because you have to stay on top of the pain...if you fall asleep it takes forever to get back on top of it!

It is hard to sleep in the pump I fell asleep for about an hour woke up hurting so I pressed the pump 3 times in 30 mins and now I'm sick!

Yep! The pump made me nauseated. Once they unhooked it I was just fine.

I'm scared not to be able to get the meds I set my phone on to ring every half hour so I can hit the pump... Did they put you on different meds? What were they if so?

They gave me Lortab (liquid vicodan). It works just fine. Oh I did use the pump the first 24 hours and they loaded me up with reglan and zofran for nausea but I felt better off the pump after the first 24 hours. I had no problems with pain control.

Well, I'm in to the teens now. 19 days and counting before the big day. Time is moving pretty quickly, and it'll go even quicker now that Tuesday I have my pre op appointment and start my pre op diet, then Thursday I have my pre op with the hospital. I'm excited, nervous, all at the same time. I think the thing I'm probably going to miss the most at first are my workouts and competitions, but...it'll work out because in a year I should be competing in a lighter weight class.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
