03.19.2013. Approved in less than 2 hours. Its been a long journey. I was approved at another hospital in Dec. And was supposed to meet the surgeon on Jan 30 to schedule surgery date and in Jan 17th I got a call saying they will no longer take my insurance. (After a year and 2 months with this process) Thank God I had seen my current surgeon as a back up. This is so surreal. Yaaa! Too many feelings: anxious scared happy etc etc

I am scheduled for March 11th. I am scared and very hopeful that this will be the turning point in my life. I am so tired of the weight and all of the challenges and problems associated with the weight. I am looking at it as a must do!

On the downward side now. Only six more days to the beginning of my new life. I can't wait. So excited. Can't come soon enough for me. I am sure my other March 7th sisters and brothers feel the same way. Here we go.

@Ashley, Hey girl, just sent you an email and FB add. I had already put that one on my bucket list, only I plan to do the half marathon, not the whole. I didn't even know the Princess offered a whole marathon. Anyway, add me please. I start training as soon as dr. releases me after surgery. I want that race as my goal. What an anniversary present, to all us March sleevers, huh? Count me in.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
