I need a little encouragement

Recommended Posts

I am now in a stall. I got down to 195.2 and have been going back and forth between 197.8 and 195.2 for about a week and a half now. I know that that is natural but it's still discouraging. I was sleeved on 9/26 (15 weeks, 3 days ago) and I have lost 45 lbs now if you count 195.2 as my weight.

I need to lose 65 more pounds to make my goal so I'm almost half way there.

You've come a long way and little stalls are ok. You need to do the following thing. Get the scale out of plain view. Pick one day of the week to get it out and step on it. Don't be discouraged if the change you want isn't there, as it will be the next week or the week after. Much easier to deal with one frustration per week than seven of them. While you're stalling other things are happening in your body that you can also notice. Maybe your pants feel a little looser today than yesterday even if the scale doesn't show it.

Kev is absolutely right! Even though I can't resist the daily weigh in, I do watch closely how my clothes feel during a stall. My surgery was July 9th and I've had a few stalls for varying durations. But during each one, I can see the difference in my clothes and people always seem to comment on my loss during the stalls. Just keep on the program while your body adjusts and you will succeed.

Please be encouraged at how far you have come. You are doing great! I was sleeved on 9/10 and I am down 66 pounds. I went through about three weeks with no weight loss. I actually gained 2 pounds during one of those weeks. I was frustrated also because when you are not eating very much every day...how can the weight not be falling off of you ??? LOL Just hang in there. That is what I did and the weight started off again. I agree with some of the other post. I only weigh once a week. I cannot handle weighing daily because I get very discouraged.

Keep it up!!! You will reach your goal.

God bless,

Marilyn

Well, there are some encouraging things. The size 8 underwear that I bought to replaced the size 9 and 10 underwear are starting to get looser and soon I will trade my size 8 underwear for the size 7 I have waiting.

I also walked all around the park at Gulfton and Chimney Rock. http://www.mapmywalk...rkout/221103734 My boyfriend and I go and he sits in the car and watches soccar (futbol) while I walk around the park. He said it took about 25 minutes. Next time I'll time it. I noticed that my knees no longer hurt. Now my muscles hurt, but I think that's an improvement.

Also, I am learning how to cook Central American Lite. Today I took a pork tenderloin and cooked it in the slow cooker in salsa verde. Had 2 corn tortillas. But if I had had that before I would have had 6 corn tortillas. It's funny, I feel like I'm eating a lot but it's like 2 1/2 oz of meat mixed with tomatillo salsa.I ate a half cup of that. Earlier today I made some arroz con leche with low fat milk and splenda and cinnamon. I also used brown rice. It was delicious and I had a quarter cup.

I also find that I can go down the stairs without pain and also pretty fast now. I can even go up the stairs carrying groceries now without having to put them on as high a step as I can reach and then moving them as I go up.

And my boyfriend tells me that I eat like "un gato".

I have some really nice serving spoons from when I did weight watchers. They are one cup, a half cup and a quarter cup. I use them when I serve my food, especially for Soups, stews and rice or Pasta. For more solid food, I usually use the palm of my hand to judge but I might go to using a measuring cup or a foods scale.< /p>

That pork sounds great. I'm gonna have to remember that one.

I used a can of green enchilada sauce and added a little dried onions and also some slightly hotter green sauce because just the green enchilada sauce was a little bland. I started cooking it at around noon and it as ready at 7pm when we ate. Oh, and I put a little too much liquid so I used a little cornstarch and a little (a tablespoon or so) of masa harina.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
